Time's Daughter

"Angel?" a voice asked. "Angel, what's wrong? Are you okay?"
My eyes fluttered open to see Nico looking down at me, concern etched on his face. "How long was I out?" I asked, pulling myself up.
"Just a few minutes," he said, quietly. "What happened?"
"I-I'm not sure," I said, explaining what I saw. "What was that?" I shivered.
Nico pulled me close to him, wrapping his arms around my torso. "Sometimes," he said, not looking at me. "Demigods get these sort of dreams, and sometimes, they tell us things we need to know." He looked down at me, brushing dark strands of hair from my eyes. "You're sure you aren't a demigod?"
I nodded. "My mom and dad are both mortals, and I'm the product of both of their efforts so..." I just let that hang in the air.
Nico looked heavily confused. "I don't get it," he said. "You're a mortal, but at the same time, you don't seem mortal."
I raised an eyebrow. "Am I supposed to take that as a compliment?"
Nico laughed. "If you want to," he said.
I don't answer, and lean back my hand coming into contact with the golden pocket watch from my dream. I pick it up, holding up by the chain letting it swing slightly.
"Is that the watch from your dream?" asked Nico.
I nod, my eyes watching the piece of metal swing back and forth. It had me hypnotized. I stared at it, my eyes watching the golden circle swing back and forth. A sharp pain stabbed at my head. I yelled out and threw it, holding my head.
Nico watched me concerned. "What happened?"
I shook my head to get rid of the pain. "it was like it was trying to show me something, but someone wouldn't let it."
"Someone?" I nodded. "That's it, I'm taking you to Chiron." He pulled me to my feet, holding on the my hand and pocketing the golden watch.
I wrenched my hand out of his. "I can't go outside Nico," I told him. "I'm wanted by the police!"
He shrugged. "We'll just shadow travel then," he said.
"No, I'm not doing that!" I protested. "It scares me, not being able to see like that!"
"Do you have a better idea?" he protested.
"No shadow travel!" He reached out to take my hand, before I could protest, golden spark emitted from the fingers and blasted the area between us apart in a miniature explosion. Nico flew back into his kitchen, unfortunately I flew towards a window.
The speed of the explosion provided my body with enough force to shatter the window. The glass shards embedded themselves in my back as I tried to the window ledge to keep from falling twenty stories, and basically grabbing onto broken glass and driving the shards deep into my hand.
"NICO!" I screamed, as my hand felt like it was about to be ripped off--which it probably was. There were screams below me and people saw me. They pointed and flashed pictures. Nico appeared, instantly.
"Give me your hand," he said, reaching down.
I glared at him. "It's kind of embedded in the glass, ghost boy!"
"The other one!" he snapped. With a groan I gave him my other hand and he pulled me up and back into the apartment. He didn't even hesitate, but carried me all the way to the kitchen and sat me down on the counter before getting out a very extensive first aid kit.
He started to pull glass out of my hand, while I growled at him, which unfortunately caused him to laugh. "Why are you growling at me?" he asked, chuckling.
"It hurts!" I say, pouting.
"Well, it's sharp glass!" he said. "Of course it hurts!"
He goes back to cleaning the cut in my hand. "So what are you wanted for anyway?"
"It's a long story," I say trying to avoid it.
"We've got all the time in the world."
"I hate you."
"Love you, too."
Another growl. "What do you know of the Morrigan?"
