The Impossible Siblings
The Plot Thickens
As I moved my stuff from the Hermes cabin to the Poseidon cabin, campers stared at me and muttered under their breath. I dropped my things on my bed and walked to the Hypnos cabin.
I pushed open the door. Inside, the only person there was him, sitting on a bed with his back to me. I walked towards him and tapped him on the shoulder. He spun around, arms raised. When he saw it was me, he dropped his arms by his side and said, "What are you doing here?"
I moved his blanket and sat next to him. "Just wanted to talk."
He stared at me, an unreadable expression on his face. "What about?"
I moved my head to look across the room. "It still seems crazy that I'm the forbidden daughter of a god, with no benefits, and that my heritage immediately sticks me under a microscope. Oh, and apparently, just because I'm more 'powerful' than other half-bloods, monsters get an instant GPS to where I am, all the time."
I turned towards him. He laughed. Can you believe it? A hurt expression appeared on my face. He saw the look on my face and stopped laughing. "Listen, you're special. And not just because you're the daughter of Poseidon. I think I'd like to be friends with you."
I looked at him straight in the eye. "Just friends?" I whispered, blushing slightly.
He narrowed his eyes and smiled slightly. "Maybe more than friends."
Our faces were now inches apart. I don't know who moved first, but seconds later, we were kissing and he had his arm around my shoulders. I pull away, my cheeks now burning crimson. I stood up and walked to the door. Before I left, though, I looked back and smiled.
Matthew's POV
What had just happened? I was totally confused. During Capture The Flag, she had almost drowned me. And then we kiss?
And it wasn't just me. She had flirted with me, and kissed back. I stood up and fixed my blanket. My sister, Dawn, walked in and looked at me for an explanation.
"What?" I say, fluffing my pillow casually.
"I just saw Zoe leaving, as red as a tomato."
I gave her an embarrassed look. Dawn looked confused for a minute, an then broke into a huge grin. "I knew it! You guys kissed, didn't you?"
Taking my burning face as confirmation, she said, "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone."
I opened my mouth to thank her, but Dawn was already there. "Don't mention it."
She skipped out, whistling a familiar tune.
