The Impossible Siblings
Capture the flag
On our side are cabins Athena, Hermes, Apollo, Hecate, Demeter, Hades, Poseidon. On the opposing: Zeus, Hephaestus, Hypnos, Ares, Aphrodite.
Chiron yelled, "Let it start...NOW!"
And the game was on.
I grabbed Zia and we ran together to the creek. We looked around for defenders. Seeing none, we cautiously made our way across. Zia crept forward. I heard a thump from behind me. I whipped around and saw the boy who had saved us and now was fighting Zia. I raised my own sword and charged. The boy stalled for a second, then high-tailed it. I helped Zia up and we set out toward the flag.
We came out of the woods and into a clearing that housed a pile of rocks. Zia gasped.
"What's wrong?" I asked her.
Zia swallowed and muttered, "Nothing."
A sign said it was called Zeus' Fist. And the flag was at the top. We started climbing. An enemy camper jumped on me and knocked me down. He took my sword and tried to trip Zia, but she was too quick for him. She rolled and swung a leg that made him fall, then taking his weapons, she threw them down under a rock. Grabbing the flag, she turned and ran for the creek.
I stayed behind a moment and looked at the boy's face; it was the same boy who attacked us earlier and saved us before that. He was actually pretty cute. His armor read, Property Of The Hypnos cabin. I smiled and promised myself I would remember that.
Then, I heard Zia yell.
Immediately I was up and running in her direction, leaving the boy on the ground. I arrived at the creek and saw an enemy demigod crouching over her. He grabbed the flag and ran back toward Zeus' fist. I was too far away to do anything. He would get away.
Suddenly, my gut wrenched.
The water exploded over him, dragging him down. He went under and came up, sputtering for breath. I ran and grabbed the flag again, crossed the creek and stuck it in the ground. Zia let out a whoop of victory.
Chiron yelled, "The blue team wins!"
The blue team exploded into triumphant yelling, laughing, and smirking at the red team. I got many pats on the back, along with my sister. I went over and shook Zia.
She stared at me and said, "Why is your head glowing?" Then she fainted.
My head was glowing!? I stood up and looked into the creek, looking at my reflection. Yes, there was a glowing symbol above my head. When Chiron saw it, he quieted the campers down and kneeled in front of me.
"Why are you kneeling?" I asked nervously.
Chiron didn't answer. Instead, he said, "Hail, Zoe Kolax, daughter of Poseidon, god of the sea, horses, and earthquakes."
