Hunter looked impressed. "Wow," He said, "I wish I could do magic."
"Well, you kind of can. With plants and stuff." I say awkwardly.
He shrugs.
We continue through the woods. This time, I don't put up a shield. It's a lot of effort, and I want to be able to react fast, not like what happened back there where Hunter had to save me.
We reach a small clearing, and I put up a memory-shield-spell up around Hunter and I, because I hear whispering nearby.
Hunter's elbow brushes up against mine, and I can feel him tense.
We walk silently into the clearing.
A tall, dark boy with dark hair and pale skin walks out from a bush. So does a pretty blonde girl. The girl is holding a bronze knife, and the boy a spear.
Their faces turn confused.
I look to Hunter, and he nods.
The shield goes down.
Immediately, the boy and the girl lose the confused expression. The girl throws the knife at me, and I dodge quickly. The boy tries to throw the spear at Hunter, but he just makes another vine wall.
Suddenly, a vine snakes up the boys leg.
The girl has no weapon anymore, and stares at us, scared. I advance towards her, my hand glowing with a spell.
A silence spell.
The girl looks like she's about to scream.
Purple, shimmery magic races towards her mouth, landing on it. She panics and try's to swat it off, but it just stays there. The boy throws his spear at Hunter, but I send a quick re-direction spell his way, so that the spear veers off and lodges itself into a tree.
I use the Silence spell to silence the boy, too.
Hunter walks over and ties them both up with strong vines.
We push them into a nearby bush and walk through the bush that they came out of.
There, stood plenty of the other team.
I quickly tried a memory-shield, but it was too late.
Spears were thrown, and Hunter had to quickly make some vine walls (and a vine roof) over us. The spears poked through on the inside of the dark vine hut.
We heard screaming and battle cries, and spears stopped getting lodged into the walls.
Hunter pulled down the walls, and we were temporarily blinded.
Our team was fighting their team.
Hunter and I ran around looking for their flag.
A Aphrodite ran over to use and started trying to shish-ka-bob us with his sword.
"Go." Hunter says as he begins fighting the Aphrodite.
Then, I spot it.
The flag.
It's on top of a large rock, where a few Ares are still guarding.
Lately, Lou has been getting me to study magic after practices. I remember reading about the manipulation of the elements...
Suddenly, I get an idea.
I focus on making a flame.
A flame appears in my hand.
I lob a fireball at the Ares on the rock, making them all jump off.
I climb onto the rock, my shield still around me.
I grab the flag.
My shield goes down, and everyone looks at me in confusion.
The Ares Counselor guy from before throws a spear at me, catching me off guard.
It sinks into my calf.
"Hey!" Hunter yells, "The game was over!"
Instantly, yelling breaks out.
"Was not!"
"Was so!"
I feel dizzy when I look down at my calf. I've always been squeamish, so seeing a spear lodged there.. it made me feel lightheaded.
All goes black.
