Luna

The lion's scratchy tongue licks my face. "Hey!" I giggle. "Stop it! That tickles!" I hear a purr, loud in my ear. He sits up, and so do I. "Thanks for saving my life, buddy."
"You're welcome."
I scream.
"Did you- did you just.. Talk?"
The lion nods.
"I must be dead. That must be it. I'm dead and.. and.." I trail off.
"I was sent to find you," the lion says. "I am the Nemean Lion, but my friends call me Ni."
I nod, taking it all in. "So... You're the Nemean Lion? Didn't you, like, kill a bunch of people?"
"Yes, actually. But I'm reformed. I swear on the river Nile." I think that's it, anyways.. Feel free to correct my stupidity. I know that that's a serious promise so I nod. "Yeah, OK. But who sent you to get me?"
"Camp Half-Blood." I immediately feel strangely giddy, considering I almost died.
"Camp Half-Blood sent you to get me? This is great!"
"Hop onto my back. I can take you there."
"But won't this look strange to the mortals?" I ask, curious.
"Oh, no. Haven't you heard of the Mist?" He explains the mist to me, and off we ride.
