Luna

I walked out of the infirmary, my eyes having to adjust to the light. I had been there for two days,
and now I'm finally out. I can finally see the Camp for myself. "Wow." I said to myself. As I am
walking around, I hear a "Dang, girl!" From behind. I turn around quickly. I see a tall blonde
staring at me. "Are you Aphrodite because you're- you're.. Dang!" He says. I can't help but burst
into laughter. He gives me a fake glare. "I'm Owen." He says.
"Luna." I say.
"Unclaimed?"
"Yeah. Do you know where the Unclaimed stay?"
"Oh, yeah. In Hermes. But believe me, you won't be Unclaimed for long. No-one is." At that, he
walks away.
I walk into the Hermes cabin, feeling awkward. Instantly, a pretty girl, probably 19, walks up to
me. "Hiya! I'm Michelle. Welcome to the Hermes cabin. I take it you're Unclaimed?" I nod.
"Well, welcome to the cabin. You can have this bunk, here." She says kindly, pointing to a
bunk. "Ever since Percy, the cabin has cleared out a lot. There's now BUNKS!!" She says
excitedly.
I walk out of the Hermes cabin, feeling much better. I walk over to the campfire, just looking
around, when I bump into that cute doctor, Jax.
Literally.
I was staring at the campfire, and he was reading. We collide, and I fall over. "Luna! I'm so
sorry." He says, giving me a hand up.
"No, no," I say. "It was my fault."
"So, how do you like Camp?"
"I love it!"
"Want the grand tour?"
"Hell yeah!"
The sun is starting to set, and Jax and I are talking as we walk back to the campfire. "Oh," He
says, "I forgot to tell you about the campfire! It's tonight. Looks like we'll make it just in time... if
we race!" He starts running and I sprint after him. We're both laughing when we make it to the
campfire.
"I would like to announce," Chiron says, "A new Camper. Luna!" Everyone cheers as he calls
my name, and the fire grows larger. All of a sudden, the cheering stops. Everyone stares at
me with wide eyes, looking just over my head. I slowly look up, to see purple light, dancing and
twirling through the air. No picture in particular, just swirling purple light. "Jax," I say, "What does
this sign mean?"
"Hecate." He says quietly.
I open the door to the Hecate cabin, to find a pretty girl standing there, she has bright green
eyes and long black hair. Above her head float bubble letters, saying "Welcome, Half-Sister!"
She smiles, and sparkles fall from the ceiling.
"Hi!" She says.
"Hello," I say. "Are you Lou Ellen?"
"Sure am!"
