Just a little story

I left school with high hopes. I took the bus home-my mom had sold the car years ago. I ran from the bus stop to Isabel's house-she lived two houses down from me. I knocked.
Isabel's mother answered. " Hello, Chris."
I asked, "Is Isabel here?"
Ms. Santori's eyes glittered. "Yes, I'll get her."
A minute later, Isabel stepped onto the patio and closed the door behind her. I pointed to my cheek.
"You kissed me."
"Yes." She said. She smiled.
"Why?"
She rolled her eyes and grabbed my head, pulling me in for a kiss. I was surprised. It was my first kiss and I didn't expect it to be with Isabel.
She broke off and smiled at me, even more beautiful.
"I like you, Chris."
I did a double take and wondered. Why would Isabel choose me, a hated outsider, when she could have any boy in the school?
"Why?"
She stepped toward me. I could feel her minty breath on my neck.
"You're considerate, you are actually interested in me because of my feelings instead of my looks, you're thoughtful, and handsome.."
Her eyes lost focus as she stared at me. I was nervous and put my arm around her waist tentatively. She didn't pull away.
