Chapter 11

POV Hannah

I don't remember dying but I don't remember really being alive either. Now I just see black. Something feels heavy around me as I have a sinking feeling. Then there was light; not warm yellow kind of light. It was bright white that gives you a headache. It's not long before I fall back into darkness.

I wake up abruptly with a loud gasp. Not a second later I notice the raw feeling in my throat and I massage my throat as if that is going to help. I try to sit up bu I'm so weak then I see that I'm bundled up in a lot of blankets and a silvery sleeping bag.


Where am I?


I look around and I figure I'm in some kind of furnished tent. I'm in a cot that was off to the side while the walls are decorated somehow with pictures and a large map directly across from me. Rugs cover the floor but I see grass peaking from the little gaps between the carpet. A couple of bookshelves sit on either side of the map, and in front of them sits a large round table without any chairs. I can see that there are papers but I can't tell what. I look up and see a lantern that's lighting up the room quite sufficiently.


what I find odd in my surroundings wasn't the tent and its furnishings but the color pallet chosen for such things. Everything was some sort of shade of silver. Like 110 different shades of the color.

First bet am that I'm safe with The Hunters. Second bet, I've been captured by duranged can of Fifty Shades of Gray. Oh gods I hope it's the first.


I hear movement outside the tent and the tent entrance is moved aside and in walks in Maxine and Thalia. Oh good I'm safe. "Good. You're finally awake." Thalia comments without a hint of concern.


"Yeah thought you wernt going to make it for a moment there." Maxine grins mischeviously and bumps my cot. The cot swings back and forth slightly and I realize my head wasn't ready for that movement.


"What happened?" My voice sounds awful, like gravel with a pelecian in a blender. Maxine sits on a cushion not too far away from me, "You fell in the Mississppi. I was able to get you out and resessitate you. The Hunters came when I sent for help. If you didn't frowned it seems like you were going to die of hyperthermia."

I roll my eyes, "Well it's not like I tried to die."
"and I wouldn't think so." Thalia interrupted. There was a pause as Thalia'a fingers seems to trace the papers on the table she stood by. She looks over at me, "We need you to recover quickly so that you can find Artemis. Your mother."


I nod, "I understand."

Thalia nods in reply, "Get some rest. We'll leave in the morning." And she motioned to Macine to leave as well. Thalia left the tent and Macine followed behind her.


the light in the lantern instinaniously went out and I was immersed in darkness again. I didn't want to go to bed but there was nothing else to do so I pull the sleeping bag over my head and pretend that I'm not even there anymore and go to sleep imagining my Father singing lullaby to me like when I was a baby. I soon fall asleep to my imagination and cast down into a paint bucket of silver with swirls of color as if someone took thick paint and swirled them all together with a toothpick. My dreams to say the least were restlesss.
