Magnus Chase And The Gods Of Asgard

Jail - Day One

I stare at the stone-cold soup for what seems like forever before a voice breaks through my thoughts. "You better drink that, buddy. They ain't givin' you nothin' for another day." I grab the bowl and slurp down the contents loudly. "You drink it like that, you'll find yourself starvin'." the voice reprimands. I turn and get a look at the speaker. He's a large man, hairy and muscular. His eyes are a stony black, and he has a bushy mustache that softens his features slightly. It covers most of his face.

"The name's John." John introduces himself. "Been here for a coupla years. Stealin' stuff and the works." He suddenly grins a crooked smile. "How 'bout you?"

"Oh, uh...I'm Magnus C-" John cuts me off. "No, no, no! We don't give las' names here. Jus' the firs'."

"Fine. Magnus." I say. "Now, tha's better, ain't it?" he asks before bellowing, "We gotta new inmate here! Name's Magnus, he says!"

"Shut up, you!" Dave comes around the corner with his truncheon. He raps it against the bars of John's cell. "Next time, it'll be you I hit, not the bars." he warns before leaving.

I scowl after Dave. "He's a nice fellow." I say sarcastically.

"You'll ge' used to it after some time." John says.

I roll my eyes. You mean, I'll get used to it after I die of boredom. I think to myself. I watch the clock on the wall slowly count the hours. The hypnotizing sound of the ticking eventually wears me out, and I fall asleep.

<<IGNORE ME, I'M JUST A LINE BREAK>>

"Maarav! You said you knew somethin' that coul' pass time." I hear an unfamiliar voice call out.

A person, presumably Maarav, answers, "Yes, I di' promise somethin' about the Norse Gods, eh?"

Norse Gods. My head snaps up at those words.

"Go on, go on." the first voice encourages.

"Alrigh', fine." Maarav relents. "Le's star' with the basics. Y'know Thor, the thunder god. Loki's the god o' fiyah. He's a trickster too, aye. Now, Odin. He's the fa'er of many o' the gods."

<<SORRY I'M TOO LAZY TO WRITE OUT EVERYTHING ABOUT THE NORSE GODS PLUS TOO MUCH RESEARCH REQUIRED IF YOU REALLY WANT TO READ ABOUT THE NORSE GODS LOOK HERE: Norse Gods and Goddesses - Crystalinks>>

After Maarav finishes, I sit back, amazed and fascinated. It really is a pity that I cannot leave this cell. The Norse Gods seem so amazing--and so real.

Notes

I finally got around to updating. :)
Soooooo sorry that the chapters are still quite short, I'm rushing this to be honest.

@Great Gatsby
Well, we didn't exactly do a good job of the predictions, because we had absolutely no idea what we were driving at.
I suppose this story will be discontinued, because I'm not sure what I'm supposed to write, and Protaokper doesn't ever get on percyjacksonfanfiction.com any more.
Oh well.
