Of Time Lords and Men

A game of Cat and Dalek

Up. Down. Sharp left. Hard right. Warp!
The tunnel of lights ended as the engines called down. I sat back. I looked out the window at my home planet. This war had taken its toll. The planet had gone from its grass red and tree silver, to red, orange, and yellow of flames.
The scanner beeped with the signal of a Dalek ship. It had followed me. It had to have guts to risk falling into a sky trench. I turned to face it. I locked on. And fired. The beam of huon energy raced towards the Dalek. It was bare metal in the vacuum of space just outside Gallifray. Idiot mo.....
The beam. It stopped. Just stopped. Right there in from of me. I looked. There didn't seem to be anything there. I moved my head to look around it. Nothing that would stop the beam. Wait? Look around what? Then, forcing my eyes to do so, I looked ahead. My worst fear had taken form. There was a Theta Class Dalek War Ship dead ahead. The Perception field still strong. But then it was blasted out of the sky by a blue beam of dilithium ions. The backup had come.

Half a quarton orbit later, the Daleks were gone. But my commanders anger wasn't. "Your out of line soldier." He buzzed in my ear com.
"Commander, with all do respect, I'm only 120. My mind isn't used to seeing through perception fields."
"I will admit that is true. But you fleed from battle. What was your schism report soldier?"
I sighed and responded,"Inspired sir."
"*huff* I would have though you would have ran. I'm sorry to do this. Again. But I'm going to have to frame you."
I was frozen with fear. Framed wasn't the worst that could happen. There was the sovereign punishments of being caught in a time loop, stuck in hyper space, dimensionally catapulted. But framing was a soldiers my age worst nightmare. You would be stuck in a pocket universe were time flows at almost nothing. Like frozen. And you could only be let out if: the control was destroyed, the freezer died, or the freezer lets you go.
And before I could stop him, a cone of green temporal energy hit my ship. And then the view outside my ship changed to a view of Dalek ships destroying themselves. Gallifray was gone.
