Of Time Lords and Men

"Toshiko! Get down here! The rift is spiraling out of control!"
Seconds later, an asian woman, mid thirties, came bolting down the stairs. It was a miracle she didn't hurt herself considering the earthquake currently going on.
"Jack,"she responded in a hurry,"the rift. It just activated. I don't know how or why, it just did." It was nearly midnight at Torchwood Three. But it wasn't as silent as it would have normally been.
"Ok,"said Toshiko,"It looks like there was a brief energy spike five minutes ago. But at that same moment, the rift became stuck in a temporal repercussion. A time loop, you might call it. But the power that the rift is releasing is getting more powerful. And the power bursts we've seen match up with plank seconds of the original burst. But they've slowly moved along. Were about to reach the peak of the energy burst at the tick of midnight."
It was 11:59, 59 seconds in, when she finished. And then reality exploded in font of their eyes.

Suddenly, Jack sat up in bed. The date read January 24, 2015. That was suposed to be the day before. It was yesterday.
