Everything was white.
The room was white, the bolt was white, the hair in my eyes was white. Everything. White.
My eyes slowly opened to find myself in what looked like a nurses office at school, except with a poster of some Californian guy with golden hair saying, "Hello potential son/daughter/brother/sister/niece/nephew! This is the God of medicine hoping you get well soon!"
I looked around the room, trying to sit up as somebody touched my shoulder.
"Take it easy, you just took a lightning bolt to the chest"
I looked up to find a girl with curly brown hair and strikingly green eyes sitting above me, just the slightest of frowns poking at the corners of her mouth.
"Wh...where am I?"
"Camp infirmiry. I'm Minnie, remember? We met in the van?"
"Oh yea...What happened?"
She pushed a strand out of her hair, biting her bottom lip "Ummm, this guy, Zeus, he kinda declared you a dead man then threw a ark of lightning at your chest."
"Just another day in the life of David Banner then huh?" I sat up weakly, looking into the mirror across the room to find a white streak of hair in the shape of a lightning bolt in my hair. "Hilarious. Any other puns you got big man?"
Thunder shook the room as Minnie looked around nervously, sinking further into her chair by my bed "Y-you shouldn't talk to Zeus like that. He sparred you this time."
I frowned, thinking on what she said. "Question is, what for?"
Before she could answer, Will came into the room, smiling wide.
"We'll look who's awake! Bout time Banner, I was about to call it!" He clapped my shoulder, smiling like we were old friends.
"How long was I out?"
"Hmmm, few days? Five tops."
"Five days?! What the hell?!"
"Easy buddy, we took care of you. You'd be surprised the kind of healing magic we have here, Minnie here is some sort of natural!" He beamed over at Minnie, making her blush darker
"I-it was nothing..." She squeaked out.
"Nothing?! Dave, this girl literally sat by your bedside the entire time, waiting for you to get up. She refused to leave, no matter what we said."
I looked over at her, an eyebrow raised. "Is that right? Well then, I guess I owe you one. Thanks a lot."
She nodded before standing up and walking out. Will snickered as he sat down on the bed.
"I think she was more used to sleeping Dave then awake Dave. How do you feel?"
"Sore. Tired. Weak. One of my better days." I smiled weakly.
"Well that's good..."
"Yea, I guess. What did Z-"
"Don't say his name! Names are very powerful."
"Ok...what did 'his highness' want?"
"As far as we know? To send a warning. We were hoping you could shed some light on the situation."
"Who's 'we'?"
"The head councillors of the cabins, along with Chiron. As soon as you're back on your feet, we'll be holding a meeting."
"For what?"
"In all honesty? Whether we should let you live or not."
