The light in our sky

It was a normal day at camp, and I was giving swordfight lessons. That's when I remembered that this morning I had planed on meeting with Annabeth before lunch.

- Alright! Break time! - I called the training off.

I went to the stairs, drank some water, and looked at my watch. OMG it had already passed half an hour! I got distracted. So, I hastily putted my shirt on, and runned to the place we had planned. But when I got there something wasn't right. I took a second to realize: She wasn't there. Really something was wrong! She never gets late! So, I went to her cabin to see if she was there.

- Hey Malcom! Have you seen Annabeth? - I asked her brother, who was coming out

- Hey Percy! No, why? She said she was going to her classes and meet you before lunch! I thought she was with you.

- Well, she isn't with me... That's not good

I scoured the whole camp, looking for her, but she wasn't anywhere. That's when a dryad came running towards us.

-OMG! A monster in the woods !! And Annabeth! And... - Juniper said her voice filled with fear
I didn't understand half of what she said but the sound of Annabeth's name made me start running to the woods, and I got a feeling she was in danger.

I was right. After I kept running for a few minutes, heard sounds so I went on their direction and as I got closer I realized they were from someone that was yelling. I recognized immediately the voice and that made me running as fast as I can.
I took a step and found myself in front of a blond girl tied to a tree, yelling desperately. When she saw me, she stopped the screams and a hint of a smile appeared on her face. I needed to save her! I approached her ready to untie the knots that bound her to the tree. But as soon as I did it her smile disappeared.

- Percy.. Behind you!!...

I looked behind and I was facing a 10 ft monster. To be more exact, a Cyclops. And his face was not friendly... I couldn't do much more because the next second I was pushed onto the floor. Yeah I was being such a hero... To my luck, the cyclops decided not to do nothing else to me. Instead, he turned towards Annabeth. The thought of him hurt her made me jump from the grass (with some pain in my back), pull Riptide out of my pocket and in seconds I had a sword in my hands.

I ran towards the ciclope, but he must have sensed it, because he wrenched a nearby rock and defended my attack, by throwing it at me. I lowered myself just in time for the rock to pass above my head.

With that I learned a lesson: never try to stab a cyclops and act like you're better than him. Why? Because the "wisecrack" of diverting from the rocks only made him angry, so he started to pull every tree on his path of the ground, and one of them hit my sword and made me lose it.
But apparently, the cyclops was only interested on Annabeth, and I was just an obstacle, because he totally ignored me and turned on her direction again. That made me remember why I was stil there, so I jumped and placed myself between her and the monster.

"yeah cool, but the cyclops will still ignore you and won't stop just because you're here" - I thought to myself.

Luckily, my brain decided to work, and my powers joined my mind. As a son of Poseidon, I sensed a lake near by, and focused all my mind and energy on it. A few seconds later I had made a water shield around us.

- Not bad for a seaweed brain - Annabeth managed to say, still terrified.

- Thanks! Any idea now? - I replied. Obviously, we weren't going to last much only with that shield. But I took the advantage to make some time to think of my next move, until the cyclops found out how to break it, or I lose my powers.

She didn't answer my question. Not because she hadn't any idea, but because I had one! yeah I know, i'm having too much ideas today. Maybe the fight was making my ADHD worst or something. But back to the fight... Well, my idea was pretty simple. I just had to focus a little and be quick, or we would both be dead..

So, I did that, and seconds later the water shield was missing, only to be replaced by a water capsule around the cyclops. He couldn't move inside it, so as long as I was controlling it, we were fine.

Then, I cut the ropes that held Annabeth to the tree, and helped her get on her feet. She was still a bit weak and shocked, but once she was up again, she hugged me tightly, as her life depended on me and managed to whispers a thank you in my ear. I felt surprised at firs, but then I hugged her back, holding her. We stayed like that sometime.

- We still needto take care of him, you know?? You cant controll that capsule forever. - Annabeth broke the silence.

So, we went to the big house to make Chiron send the monster away, with her supported on me.

Once we got there, after telling the story of what happened, Chiron sent her to the infirmary, because she needed to rest. And we went to free the monster outside the camp. We walked there, but having to keep your powers working for so long, just after winning a fight to save your girlfriend is a bit hard, so I started to get a headache. Chiron got closer to the magic limits and we released the monster there.

- Yay! We're safe now! - i thought to myself. But after that, Istarted to feel a little dizzy and the next thing I remember is that everything went black

Ok, so no, I didn't evaporated, died, or gave up on the story

I'm really sorry I just updated a month later, but I have a very good excuse! My computer broke down, and went for repair, but they never gave it back, so the store had to give me a new one, if it didn't got here in time and that happens that it was yesterday, so I was a whole month without computer. :(

As for the chapter, I had to write it again, because I lost everything i had on my computer.

But now, my dear loved fans, I'm back which means updates (almost) every two weeks!!! Again, I'm really sorry for making you wait for so long, but it wasn't my fault!! please don't kill me :P
