Will

Will opened the door to the infirmary, already speaking. "So, Alex. You're free to go, but try not to do anything too--" and upon seeing her empty bed, sighed and leaned against the doorframe. "What did you expect Will? She's a gypsy. She can't stay in one place too long and goes where she pleases." He sighed again and ran his hand through his wavy blond hair, his bright blue eyes thoughtful, thinking of where Alex would go at this ungodly hour of the morning. Finally it hit him, and he muttered, "Crap," slammed the door to the infirmary and printed off towards the forest, and promptly rammed into Nico. "What the hell, Solace?" The son of Hades asked, rubbing his forehead and scowling at his friend. "Sorry Death Boy--"
"Don't call me that," Nico said immediately, the same way after all these years of knowing Will. "Yeah, whatever. I was just going to go find Alex because she's not in her bed and I think she's in the might be in the forest--"
"In the forest? Seriously? Come on then!" Nico said, turning and running into the forest, Will hot on his heels.
"Why are you so concerned?" Will panted, the darkness of the forest looming before them. "She's MY patient."
"Shut up Solace." Nico called behind him, and then plunged into the thicket of trees, Will jogging after him, muttering, "He never says anything nice, does he?" and ran after him.

Nico

Alex was missing already and Will thought she was in the forest. Why now? Pratically no one was awake, except Chiron and Mr.D, who had just gotten back from Olympus on godly duties, who were making their way to the dining pavilion for breakfast. He was about to the same when Will ran painfully into him, and explained where he was going in such a hurry.
Nico sighed and thought the mischievous look in her eyes when she had conjured up that monster, as if she enjoyed the way the power felt, how tender she had been with it, and how her voice had sounded when Mrs.O'Leary had pounced on her, how she cried out in pain, and then asked himself why he was thinking of her so much. What Will had said, about why he cared so much..... He didn't know, he just knew that if anything had happened to Alex......
He and Will stumbled into a small clearing, with sunlight filtering through a hole in the trees, on a sight that Nico's face go slack with shock.
Alex sat on a boulder with Mrs.O'Leary's giant head in her lap, and how contented they both looked. A slight smile played on her lips as she scratched the hellhound behind the ears, and looked up only when Will said, loudly, "What the HELL, are you doing OUT HERE?"
Alex blinked, then a dull flush rose up in her pale cheeks, enhancing the beauty of her features. "I just couldnt wait to get out of there, I could barely sleep, I nearly climbed the walls--"
"You didn't sleep either? Oh my gods, I give up. You have the heart of a gypsy, Alexandra Payne. The wonders of the night keep you awake and adventure calls for you at every possible chance."
"Very poetic, son of Apollo, but how good are you at riddles?" She asked, resting her hand in the palm of her hand.
Will raised an eyebrow. "I'm decent." He said, after a brief pause.
"Decent is a too kind, Will. You're terrible at riddles." Nico said, chuckling.
"As if you're any better!" Will mumbled, scowling.
"I am, well, better than you, at least." At this, Will walked up to him and punched him in the arm. "Shut up, Death Boy."
"Don't call me--"
"Ladies, ladies, calm down, you're both pretty." Alex said, smiling at the boys, her crooked smile on her lips yet again. Nico could feel himself blush slightly, and hated himself for it.
"How about after lunch? You'll enjoy it, I promise. At the lake, okay?"
"Deal," Will said, "Can we go now? I'm starving."
Alex stood up, jumped off, landing nimbly on her feet. She dusted herself off and said, "Let's go. I need something to eat." She stroked Mrs.O'Leary's head one last time before turning around and leading the others out of the woods.
"I thought you hated dogs." Nico said, catching up with her.
"I do," she replied, "but I suppose Mrs.O'Leary's different. You trained her well; she seems to be extremely fond of you."
"I didn't train her, and she's not mine. She was actually left in Percy Jackson's care, the son of Poseidon."
"Was she really?" Alex muttered, shielding her eyes from the sudden exposure to sunlight after the cover of the dark trees.
"Yeah, by the Labyrinth's creator, Daedalus."
"There seems to be a lot happening here, no?" She asked, walking towards the dining pavilion.
"There used to be, until--"
"Are you lovebirds going to talk the entire time?" Will asked them, jogging backwards in front of them.
"Shut up Solace." They both said, then glanced at each other and blushed.
"Aww, they're blushing! This is adorable, I should've brought my camera." Will grinned, and ran off before any of them could retaliate. "I'm sorry. He can be a real pain in the podex sometimes." Nico said, his cheeks still warm. "Nah, it's okay, I didn't mind it much," Alex said,and smiled crookedly when he looked at her.
They laughed and talked all the way to breakfast, and Nico smiled more than he had the entire week.

937 reads last time I checked, and I want to thank the academy, this website and it's wonderful members, and the fact that I'm not as lazy as I thought. :) Anyhoo, I was wondering if I should make a post about the origins and meanings of the characters' names, and could, like, incorporate them to THESE characters. I just want an insight of that'll be welcome or not, so ya.....
