Aleka, The Fourth Fate

Introductions

Aleka

When she reached the top of the hill, slightly out breath, Aleka was met with a very unexpected sight:
Two demigods were fending off a Teumessian fox, a beast that was banished to the stars by Zeus. This can't be possible. This SHOULDN'T be possible. The only explanation could be that the ancient monsters were awakening, monsters so old, time had forgotten them.....
Aleka spotted Nico, and had a slight panic attack. The Teumessian fox was destined to never be defeated. If it got him, Hades would have her head, or her soul.....
Without taking her eyes away from it, Aleka withdrew her dagger, the only weapon she had on her. The Stygian Iron had special properties. If it could absorb her Sight, it could probably absorb the fox's essence as well. She pulled it out of it's sheath, took aim, and flung it with deadly accuracy. As the fox bent it's hind legs and kept at Nico, it's fangs an inch away from his neck, it dissintegrated. The dust gathered in a pile at his feet and was blown away by an unfelt breeze. Nico looked up, gratitude writen on his face, but stopped when he saw Aleka, and gratitude turned to shock.

Nico

This can't be possible. This SHOULDN'T be possible. Glancing at him, the girl walked towards him and bent to pick up her knife. It was made of Stygian Iron, like Nico's sword. She returned it to it's sheath and looked at him with slight concern. "You okay? You seem a bit pale." Her voice sounded musical yet melancholy, as if she had suffered great sadness and pain in her life.
Nico swallowed. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine."
The girl seemed relieved. "Good." She glanced over his shoulder. "Seems like someone's loking for you."
Sure enough, there was a cry of "di Angelo!" and Will Solace jogged up to them. "What the HELL happened?"
"I'll tell you what happened," a voice said. Nico looked over the girl's shoulder and saw Cecil from the Hermes cabin walking towards them, his dented and charred helmet under one arm. "Nico was about to get torn to pieces, when SHE," Cecil said, jutting his thumb at Nico's savior, "Came out of nowhere and killed that thing, RIGHT when it was about to rip his throat out."
Nico could feel the color rising in his pale cheeks.
"It was nothing," the girl said, shrugging. "It was just instinct, I guess."
"Well, thank the Olympians for your instincts then, you just saved Nico's life." Will grinned and glanced at Nico's slightly pink cheeks. He glared at him. They were good friends, yes, but sometimes Nico just wanted to pulverize him.
"I'm Will Solace, by the way," he continued. "You've already met Nico over here. There behind you is Cecil."
"A pleasure," Cecil said, grinning.
The girl smiled crookedly. "The pleasure's all mine. I'm Alexandra Payne, but you can call me Alex."
"Well then, Alex, thank you again for saving Nico's sorry ass from that thing," Will said, hiding his smile at watching Nico turn a darker shade of pink. "Any clue to what it was?"
"It was a Teumessian fox," and, at seeing their blank faces, continued. "It was a beast destined never to be caught. They say Dionysus sent it to Thebes to prey upon their children as punishment for a national crime. Creon, the then Regent of Thebes, set Amphitryon the impossible task of destroying it. He discovered an apparently perfect solution to the problem by fetching the magical dog Laelaps, who was destined to catch everything it chased, to catch the Teumessian fox. Zeus, faced with an inevitable contradiction due to the paradoxical nature of their mutually excluding abilities, turned the two beasts into stone. The pair were cast into the stars, and remain as the constellation Canis Major, which is Laelaps, and Canis Minor, which is the Teumessian fox."
They all blinked, and Will was the one to break the silence. "Well Ms.Wikipedia, may I ask, how you know this?"
Alex shrugged. "I like to read."
Nico frowned. "You're not dyslexic?"
"Funny, no. It's common for most demigods, but not for me."
"You know you're a demigod?" Cecil asked.
"Yeah, a daughter of Hecate, actually."
"Lou Ellen's gonna love this," Will said, grinning. "Come on, Alex, we'lll take you to Chiron."
Alex followed Cecil as he lead her away, and Will was about to follow when Nico grabbed his arm.
"Um, I think I'll go tell Lou about Alex instead, alright?"
"Ookay," Will looked at him mischievously. "Wanna freshen up for the lady, no? I can tell you like her."
Nico punched him in the arm. "Shut up Solace. I'll see you later."
"See ya, Death Boy!" Will called, and sprinted off after Alex and Cecil before Nico could retaliate.
Nico scowled in his direction, and began to walk to the Hecate cabin, slowly so he could gather his thoughts.
There was no doubt about it: Alex was the girl he had seen in the Underworld this morning. The one that had been waiting outside his father's throne room. She was beautiful, and Nico wanted to strangle Will for what he said back there. But, if it was her in the Underworld, then how could she have gotten here, at such speed. And was it a coincidence that he was here too?.... How?......
