The Hope in Our Scars

Twenty minutes into the tour, and I still didn't know what the hell was the point of keeping demigods safe, if you risked killing them, in various "sportsman ship" duels and battles for practice. Reyna, too seemed to find my presence rather troublesome, she would stare back at Leo and I a few times, and see some form of disaprovement that neither of us could understand.
A few minutes later while discussing where the cabins were, Reyna called out to one of the camp members. An Asian kid with a sweatshirt and Canadian shorts came jogging back to us, and his jaws dropped as he casually glanced at Leo and me.
"Reyna, but that's-"
"Shush Zhang," Reyna said irritably. "I'll talk to Mr. Valdez in private, and you get Percy right at this moment."
"Yes, Reyna" said Frank, with a small salute of respect.
Reyna smiled apologetically at the both of us, and motioned for Leo to come with.
"So may I have a small chat with you?" Reyna asked.
Leo shrugged and looked up at me. I nodded though I was very reluctant for us to be driven apart from each other.
I gave Leo a small wave as he and Reyna walked out into whatever place she was taking him.
Frank who came back to me, along with Clara, a girl with gleaming amber eyes, and the boy who must have been the one called Percy.
"Sorry for her tagging along," said Percy. His voice reminded me of the waves. His sea green eyes would defintely make him an ideal boy friend.
The other girl punched Percy in the arm.
"Ow."
"I'm Hazel by the way," said the girl reaching out her hand in welcome. "I'm a child of Pluto, the d-death God," she managed to choke it out.
"Frank Zhang," grunted Frank. "We're going to be your tour directors from now on. You also know our friend Clara there."
The oldest demigod out of the bunch, smiled and waved. I dared to break the silence and wave back.
"Who do you want to go with first?" asked Hazel in an eager voice.
I bit my lip. Unsure who to go along with. Frank probably knew everything about camp, taking in his uniform similar to Reyna's. He must be co-leader, but his disgruntled voice made me uneasy as well. Hazel was kind, but she seemed the youngest out of all. Clara was great and stuff but I still had too many questions about her that it would distract me from the tour.
With a last nervous shake of my voice, I managed to choke out.
"Percy, I choose Percy."
The rest, except for Frank, seemed a bit disappointed by my picking. Percy just flashed me an eager smile. "Alright, let's get to it!" Pulling my non-injured arm, Percy dragged me into the city of New Rome, and when I looked back Frank and the others were merely dots outlined against the light blue day sky.
