The Hope in Our Scars

Chapter Fifteen

Our feet tapped in unison as Percy and I waited expectantly at the border of New Rome to wait for Annabeth and Leo.
Percy had really stepped up in his dating outfit. He wore a nice long sleeved dress shirt with a black tie, and just wore regular jeans that boosted his looks even more. His sea green eyes seemed even more breath taking. The dress I picked with Percy was white and baige one, that cut down in the back, and had thin spagghetti straps in the front. I was wearing high heeled sandals, and brushed a strand of my dirty blond hair to the back of my single-braided one.
I heard a shout of Percy's name. Footsteps coming closer and closer until it broke out into a run. I saw a pretty blond girl Percy's age wearing a black zipper down dress, had stunning features, and wore black high heels. I watched as their lips crashed into eachother, and with each moment they deepened the kiss. After realizing my presence, the girl, who must be Annabeth, sheepishly unwrapped her legs around Percy, and held out her hand for me to confidently shake.
"Hi, I'm Annabeth, daughter of Athena, or Minerva if you so put it, and you must be Lilac."
I nodded, gladly taking her hand. Annabeth seemed to be a very kind person. Percy was lucky to have her.
"Just call me Lily," I said. "I don't know my parentage, but I hope to find out soon."
"Hmmmm," said Annabeth, as if trying to read me, "I can tell your Greek, otherwise the Roman form of the Gods would have claimed you by now."
Annabeth seemed to ponder at this for a moment. "Tonight, I'll discuss to Reyna if you, Percy, Leo and I can get you back to Camp Half-blood to be claimed."
I nodded, being extremely curious myself, about my family tree.
"But Leo's not here," remarked Percy. "Before we even talk to Reyna, or go on the date we promised, we need to get him."
"Yo, Rachel!" Percy called, the red-haired camper.
"Ya-huh, what do you want Percy?"
"Have you seen Leo lately?"
"No," replied Rachel, anxiety evident in her tone. "I haven't seen Reyna either."
I had a very bad feeling about where they were. The remaining acids of the potion rumbled in my empty stomach.
"I think I know where they are," I replied, grimly, "if they were lucky enough to try the potion yesterday, we're sure to find them back at the cabin of the war goddess."
