When I finally got to New York, it wasn't by plane as you might have expected. Jason took Elle, Kate and I to Camp Half Blood by shadow traveling. We got there in two minutes which is better then any plane that I know of. Well, the trip wasn't all that exciting. We found out that Elle had a tendency to throw up when she moves really fast. I thought it was amazing though. One second we are in the DA office in Evans, to the camp all the way in New York! The camp was not what I expected. I was thinking a group of kids in tents fighting for their lives. It was actually a pretty big place with a lot of cabins for the gods. The demigods were strolling around casually. I later found out that they were on a break period. Then, we found who we were looking for. May Kirkland.
"Are you the new guy I keep hearing about? James, isn't it?"
"That would be me." This girl is intimidating!
"I have training today, but an off day tomorrow. We will start at 7:00 in the morning."
"Aye aye!" I said sarcastically.
"If you want to joke around, you should just go back to Georgia!"
On that note, she walked off and got right back to her training.
About an hour later, we met our demigod siblings and put our stuff down in our parent's cabins. There, I met Annabeth Chase. She had curly blonde hair and shocking grey eyes. This was my sister? I'm not really used to having siblings and I have no idea how to act. They show me to my bunk and around the camp. They all seem very happy to meet a new sibling. I don't think that I really want to go back home. I want to stay here with my brothers and sisters. I want to train and meet other people like me! I also have heard rumors of another camp and want to visit that one too!

At 7:00 the next morning, I was awake and ready to start my training. May didn't get there till 7:30 so I was stuck doing nothing for half an hour. But as soon as she got to the forest where she told me to wait, there was no time for playing or jokes. We didn't talk much as we walked into the forest. Most of the campers don't wake up until 8:00 so it was quite accept for the occasional monster howl or shriek. Today's lesson is basically monster 101. I got to learn all about which monsters are easy to kill, and which monsters are harder to kill, and should be attacked with groups rather then alone. Her weapon was a scythe. I am a little jealous that my weapon wasn't as cool as hers. She told me that you could actually add things to your weapon in the Hephestus workshop. And she, being a daughter of the forge god, knew all about the mechanics of just about everything you can build a diagram of. And we got along really well. Even in the mortal world, architects wouldn't succeed without builders. And in this case, she is the builder, and I am the thinker. We even got to destroy a couple of monsters. Seeing her move, I realize that she works like a well oiled machine. Attacking twice, and blocking. She repeats this pattern over and over until she kills the monster. And when the monster gets used to that, she will throw something new in to confuse it. Sometimes blocking twice, giving me an opening to fire my bow, or blasting it with fire.
"For a new kid, you are very good at destroying these monsters. I am actually looking forward to you in your sparing match today."
"Wait. Hold on a second. No one told me I was going to have to spar anyone today."
"Well obviously! You are going to have to know more then how to kill a drakan. You also need to know how to unarm a demigod enemy. And how to ovoid attacks by demigods with powers."
"Like you with your fire?"
"Like me with my fire."
She is a very good teacher and explains everything in such a manner that you can't get it wrong. If I have to go home, I hope I will find a teacher as good as her to train me if I can't complete it here at Camp Half Blood.
Kate hasn't been seen trying to kill anyone so i think that that is a very good step forward. She has met her Greek siblings and taken a liking to them. It seems that everyone loves it here! I don't think that anyone wants to go home! Well, except for Elle. She wants to go home as soon as possible.
