When the Sea meets the Sun
Chapter Two
I stare up into the face of my new college, missing summer already as I trudge up the granite steps into the hallways. I shove past people, watching to see who's already making friends and who might be viable for me to hook up and hang with later.
"Hey, watch it!" Someone complains as I push past them.
"Sorry, sweetie." I mutter under my breath, scanning my papers for my room number. Where is it, where is it...
I turn around, a confused look spreading over my face as I resurvey my area. Maybe I'm just totally in the wrong building...?
I raise an eyebrow and look back down at my paper, chewing on my lip as I shrug my keychain-laden purple backpack back over my tight black shirt. I readjust the strap closer to my neck and push the bag to my back as I walk the opposite direction with my head up.
I approach a neatly dressed, older looking girl and hug my books to my chest. "Excuse me, but can you help me find my classroom?" I asked with a pleasant smile, hoping she'd fall for my happy look.
Lucky for me, she did. Grabbing my papers, she directed me down the hall back where I had been walking.
"Thanks." I folded the papers back up and shoved them into my pocket, and as I went to turn around, I smacked into someone. "Really?" I groaned, glaring at the person rushing hastily away from me. What is it with people and not watching where they go?
I ducked into the classroom, pushing my way into the back, and plopping my books down on the floor and putting my feet up on my desk as was standard for me. The halls slowly thinned out as everyone filed into class, and about five minutes after the professor began the lecture, a girl opened the door with a embarrassed look on her face.
"Sorry I'm late."
The Professor looks down at her clipboard, “Ah, Miss Eliza Rush, a pleasure to meet you, I’m sure that this won’t become a trend.”
“No mam’.” She replies., taking a seat near me. I squint. She looks familiar.
"Eliza Rush?" I ask.
“Do I know you?” She asks, whispering.
“It’s me!” I say with a slight smile, “Echo Adler from Percy Jackson Fanfiction!”
Notes
Yeah...when it comes down to it I'm not too awkward but I do turn into a turtle when I'm in a new place.
<3 Echo
Gotta admit I'm kinda tired of these impersonators...It's getting old.
