My Life as the Daughter of Poseidon: Book One: True Me, True You

Outfit Changes

The cruddy thing about being a mermaid princess was the sea-metal body armor. I wore a headband made of coral and pearls, and matching earrings. I had on metal sleeves that went from my elbow, and covered most of the top of my hand. They were decorated with swirling wave designs. On the sleeve on my left arm, I had a little extra metal patch in the shape of an oval, held on with a thin metal string. Above it, on my upper arm, I wore a band that was twirled around my arm, and the ends were in spirals. Right above my right sleeve -not on my upper arm, directly above my elbow- was a square-with-rounded-edges patch, also held by a metal string.

Now this is where it gets complicated.

Around my um, chest area was a band of metal that was in the shape of a bandeau bikini, and over the wider spots that actually covered stuff up were kind of round ovals on an angle, and on the end that pointed up were little points, and the whole job was spiral-designed. Around the area above that was a piece of armor that looked a bit like the top of a turtleneck. There was no back, and it covered the top of the shoulder then curved in and went down until it reached my metal bikini top. Lastly on my chest was a long necklace with a coral and pearl pendant. Where the soft silk chain started inwards was where it was fastened the bottom of my turtleneck thing with a round metal disk with a spiral in the middle.

Next is my tail. Around my waist (where my tail began) was a belt that was thick, but narrowed out in the front. I had one medium-sized fin on the back of my tail near my butt, a small one on the back of my tail where my knees would be, and the large one at the end of my tail. The whole number was a light aqua blue, even the highlights in my hair that also appeared when I turned. Going down my tail was a faint, slightly darker aqua stream of bubbles, and my fins got darker towards the edge.

Everything was the exact same for Tsunami, except on her head was a tall black metal crown with gems in it, and like the gems, her whole outfit was a dark aqua, but otherwise we were the exact same, from the highlights in our hair to the bubble stream on our tails, to the way our fins got darker.

Now don't get me wrong, the sea-metal was somehow flexible and not uncomfortable, but it was incredible hard to get used to. That was all I could think about as we were brought into a hall with many doors, that and the fact that I was quite glad me and Tsunami had already been great at the dolphin stroke, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to swim like this.

Notes

I figured you guys deserved a double update on this one.

No problem. I honestly love the story. Sure the chapters are short, but you got a good plot. :)
