I could barely see in the dark, but my eyes adjusted. Trees shielded the sunlight, and I could hear campers fighting in the distance. As I leaned against a tree, I breathed heavily. I had a feeling the red team had our flag already.

Someone grabbed my bicep and kept running, which I realized it was Percy.

"Run!" He said, which seemed a little late since I had to sprint to keep up with his strides. In his right hand he clutched his sword, the crimson flag in his left hand, which pressed it into my arm. I drew my own sword, yanking the flag from his hand.

"On your right!" I shouted, seeing a camper charge from the right. Percy let go of me and fought there, so I kept running. The river was in sight, almost there-

Hades Left Buttcheek! I tripped over something in the forest just before the river. I scrambled up and ran across the little stream.

"Victory to Blue!" I shouted, holding up the red flag in my hand. Clarisse glared at me and grumbled off, and Percy appeared next to me. He hoisted me onto his shoulder, hollering in triumph. I laughed, waving the flag in the air. Annabeth sighed, pulling her helmet off. The red plumage stuck towards the ground. I pulled off my own helmet, whooping with Percy and the growing huddle of our team.

Percy held my hand up in the air as we all ran back to the campfire, the flames burning a bright orange now. The flag waved behind us as we ran, the large group yelling cheers about how we won again, how Clarisse and Lamer would get us back.

I sat with Amira and Calum at the campfire, munching on a s'more. Amira was giggling at something Calum said.

"Good job out there, Eve." He nudged me.

"Thanks Cal." I muttered, finishing the desert. I smiled at him, still coming down from the excitement from winning Capture the Flag.

"Come to steal our friend?" Amira looked up to someone, slightly annoyed and slightly awestruck. I heard a familiar sigh.

"You guys hate me, huh?" Percy said out of my view. Calum must've been eyeing him uneasily, like he was my dad and Percy was some punk trying to, uh, this is a bad analogy, huh?

"We don't hate you, we simply dislike you always taking Eve from us. If you like wanna go out with her or something just ask her." Amira rolled her eyes. Percy laughed awkwardly.

"No, the rest of our team was heading to the lake to set off fireworks, but if you don't wanna come explode stuff..." Percy shrugged, walking towards the lake. I waited a minute before turning to my friends.

"What is wrong with you guys?!" I whisper-scolded. Amira looked down and blushed, Calum rolling his eyes.

"He is stealing you away!"

"It's fireworks, you nerd." I rolled my eyes, pushing down his hat. He grumbled something under his breath as I walk off towards the lake.

The water was dark, and I looked up at the sky. The first firework went off, bright blue and purple sparkling in the sky. The almost black water shakily reflected it, and I simply stared in awe. No matter how many times I see a firework show, I always in awe. Percy rolled his eyes next to me, but said in a hushed voice, "Cool, huh?"

I nodded in response, "Annabeth would like to be sitting here, dude." I heard myself say to him.

"Technically only this team can be here to watch it. Rules." He shrugged, brushing off a little sand.

"Since when did you follow rules, Jackson?" I looked at him for a moment, and he scoffed.

"When it comes to fireworks. Plus Annabeth gets a little upset when I go against rules." He shrugged, and I nodded. Of course, Annabeth and rules.
