Seven
I wrote this while listening to this playlist
Someone knocked on the door, opening it slightly.
“Can I come in?” The voice said. I recognized it, but didn’t seem to place it to a face in my mind, “Uh, it’s Annabeth.”I sighed, trying to get up, “Sure.” I grunted out. Annabeth came in and helped me sit upright, getting a small ‘thank you’ from me. We looked at each other for a minute before she cleared her throat.
“I know you aren’t the spy,” She sighed after a moment, “And you don’t like him.”“Well, I’m ace. Plus, he told me how much he likes you. Like a lot.” I smiled a little, “Well, he even went so far as if anyone were to get in his pants, he’d want it to be you.”
Annabeth’s cheeks turned pink, and she scoffed, twiddling with the hem of her shirt, “Uh, how are you feeling?” She sat down on the edge of my cot. “I’m feeling better. Back is still stiff as a board. Should be tip top shape in a few days.” I shrugged, “You?”“I’m not the one in the infirmary.” She grinned a little, making me laugh a little.
“It’s called trying to make friends.” I replied, holding out a fist, “Supposedly fist bumping helps with that.” Annabeth gave me a fistbump, then we broke into laughs, which hurt my ribs a little.
“Yeah, I could be friends with you. I see why Percy drones on about how funny you are.” She smiled, “Mostly we laugh at your bad jokes.”
“They aren’t bad if they make you laugh.” I protested, looking at her grey eyes. The eyes I’d only ever seen shoot my death glares, side eyes, and dismissive eye rolls. Yet, here they were, not glaring at me. Giving me a chance at friendship. It felt good, to be completely honest. We sat there for what felt like forever, simply smiling at each other. The long moment was broken by Amira coming in for the second time today.
“Oh, look! You’re becoming friends!” She teased, sitting in the chair by my bed. She smiled at the two of us for a moment, taking in how we were getting along.
“Well, you’re cleared Eve.” Amira said, leaning over to whisper, “Try not to start a fight.” before leaving me back with Annabeth.
“Want help up?” She offered, and I nodded. She took me by the shoulder and helped me up.
“Thanks. Uh, you can go now. Nice talking to you.” I said, feeling awfully awkward.
Amira and I sat on the little porch of her cabin. She looked at me for a moment before speaking up.
“So, you and Annabeth are becoming friends?” She asked, leaning back. She seemed a little bit suspicious of it.
“Yeah, she is actually quite nice when she isn’t side eyeing me,” I smiled a bit, scratching my nose. Amira’s mouth relaxed a bit, less of a frown. She nodded a little bit before standing up to stretch.
“Just stay on her good side.” She helped me out of the chair, and I cracked my own back. It relieved a bit of stiffness, making me feel a bit better. I gave Amaira a hug before leaving, since I had promised to meet Calum during his free hours after training.

Yay! A new chapter! Yeah, ace as in asexual. Honestly, there are a ton of hetero people in 90% of fics and real life. I felt like it would be nice to have a bit of representation for another sexuality! No, I'm not ace, I'm just someone who thinks it's great to give a bit of representation!
