Nightmares
Chapter 3
When dinner was done I walked over to annabeth but hesitated about ten feet away because she was having a heated conversation with Malcolm and it looked like they were arguing. It also liked like annabeth was losing mostly because more than half the Athena cabin seemed to be backing Malcolm.
"Hey guys." I said walking up.
"Ugh!" Malcolm threw his hands up in frustration
"Yeah nice seeing you to Malcolm." I said.
"Annabeth it's final." Malcolm concluded.
"Malcolm-" annabeth started but Malcolm glared at her.
"Annabeth, you can't be head counselor if your not even part of the cabin." Malcolm said " Tonight annabeth. In the Athena cabin." Malcolm gave me a pointed glare like I started this all. Him and the rest of the Athena campers filed out of the dinner pavilion.
"Annabeth? What was all that about?" I asked.
She still looked hurt from what Malcolm last said.
"I-it's nothing. It won't happen either way so. . . " I titles her chin so she was looking me in the eye.
"Annabeth." I said. she sighed.
"Malcolm said that I need to stay in the Athena cabin from now on because I can't be head conselour if-if I'm not part of the cabin. He's just mad about earlier. He doesn't mean it." She sounded like she was trying to convince herself more than me. annabeth staying in the Athena cabin was the last thing I wanted. I mean I got the nightmares too. I tried to hide it for her sake but she's what keeps me grounded. But Malcolm had a point she had duties at her cabin and I can't hold her away from those.
"Annabeth? I think you should try staying in the Athena cabin." I said. Immediately she looked up at me.
"B-But why?" She asked.
"Annabeth. The nightmares get to me too but maybe being in the envoirment that your most comfortable with. Where you stayed all those summers would lessen them. And I don't want you to loose your head conselour position." She just nodded and looked at the ground. I saw hurt in her eyes and I wanted to take back everything I just said and tell stay with me but I knew I couldn't.
But i sooo wanted to.
