Camp Hogwarts

The rest of the summer was pretty mellow. I made a few new friends, but I mostly stuck with Percy, Annabeth, and Will. I met Will's boyfriend, Nico, who was a little too shadowy for my taste. But he made Will happy, and he seemed nice enough, for a son of Hades.
In August, everyone was saying their goodbyes and getting ready to go home. Percy and Annabeth were heading to college for the first time, so they were leaving early. I Iris Messaged Mom. "Hon, who's your dad?" was the first thing she asked.
"Thanks for the warm hello, Mom," I replied sarcastically. "And Apollo."
"Hm, that explains the golden--"
"Okay!" I exclaimed before she could say any more. "But should I stay?"
"Apollo's quite powerful, but he's not one of the Big Three...so it depends. How strong are you?"
"If I stand in the sun, I glow and can efficiently kick butt," I answered.
"Yeah, you're staying. I'm sorry. Are any of your friends staying?" she asked.
"Only Piper McLean, Will Solace, and Nico DiAngelo," I sighed.
"Don't worry. I'm sure that something exciting will show up. Bye, love you! Make sure you come visit!" The Iris Message timed out before I could say goodbye. Just after she hung up, Nico ran up to me. I never really talked to him, so I assumed it was something huge.
"Annabeth--she's brought three mortals into camp. They're not like normal mortals, though, and one of them looks exactly like Percy..." I cringed, suspecting who these mortals were. "Anyway, the whole camp's meeting up. I don't think they're demigods, but they could enter camp normally." And that was when my suspicions were confirmed. "Come on, let's go," Nico finished, and he took off. I followed.

Chiron stamped his hooves against the ground. "Campers. CAMPERS!" he shouted when no one would pay attention. "I realize that this is not normal. This may even be frightening for most of you. But these people are not regular mortals. They can see through the mist. They are from a different world, with different magic. Anyway, they've decided that they can talk to you, maybe ease your mind a little." And with that, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley stumbled close to the purple fire.
Hermione was the only one who recognized me, since we spoke to each other a few times during third year. She gasped and whispered something to Harry, who took a closer look at me. Will nudged me. "Why are they staring?" he muttered.
"No idea," I lied. Chiron noticed, too, and called me to the center.
"You, Lena, are particularly powerful. They seem to know you." Hermione nodded and spoke to me quite kindly.
"You're Lena Hunter, aren't you? That quiet Ravenclaw from third year?" she asked. Will snorted when she said quiet. I glared at him. "Yeah, I remember you," she said. "Can you help us explain?" So I talked to them. The demigods seemed shocked that there was another type of magic, and even more shocked that I was connected to both worlds. Finally, Harry cleared his throat.
"Er, we're looking for a few other...um...magical folk to help us defeating someone really evil. He goes by the name--" Ron elbowed him.
"The name's taboo," Ron explained. "But he's dangerous, and evil. He's bent on killing all non-magical people and those that defend non-magical people."
"Obviously, Lena's a given, since she's already familiar with wizardry. Lena, can you pick four people? Eight's a good number," Hermione said. "I know it sounds superstitious. But anyway..."
"Um, Will. Percy and Annabeth, definitely. Uh, and Nico." Chiron grimaced.
"I would much rather just have three, but if you insist on eight...you'll start tomorrow."
