POSEIDON’S POV
Poseidon watched calmly as his son went running after his daughter. He really didn’t see why this was such a problem, in the old ages people were lucky to find out they were demi-gods. Especially if they were the child of someone as cool as himself. Now, it’s all quests and a hard life and having a bad childhood. Boo-hoo, everyone has a bad childhood. You need a bad childhood if you ever want to do something with your life. And Poseidon was sure his daughter would be one of the greatest heroes in history. He was just worried that the bad side which she had inherited wouldn’t drag her down. Speaking of bad sides.
“Tell me, nephew, how long you have been standing there, and how much you have heard” he says, strongly.
“not very long uncle” he says in his casual dismissive tone so similar to his fathers, “just heard you throw around the word pit, not sure in what context, but whatever it is, it doesn’t seem like something that should be thrown around” Nico says, raising his eyebrows at the god. Poseidon resists the urge to sigh, only the child of hades would have enough guts to be so rude to a god.
“You will not speak of this to anyone” Poseidon states.
“I don’t find it very fair that jade got the bad side of you, and now she doesn’t even get to learn about it, I mean, I know how it’s like to live under Percy’s spotlight.”
“the girl will learn on her own, an attribution to earning my bad side as you call it, is that she has also inherited more power than Percy, more power than a demi-god should have. And if you cared for the girl, you would take care not to throw that around” he says pointedly. Nico smirks.
“What makes you think I care for your daughter” he says with poison in his words.
“You may not, I do not know. But I do know you care for Percy, and he cares deeply for the girl, so in relation, you will do well to keep silent son of hades” Poseidon says, ending the conversation.
“it is what I do best, uncle” Nico says, a hint of sarcasm in his voice, and a whole note of sarcasm in his mocking bow, before dissolving into mist, as he does when he shadow travels.
