Stare

I have no idea what just jappened. At all. I'm heading up to the Pavillion for camp fire and Rachel pulls me aside and kisses me! I don't get it. She didn't even say anything. She pulls me to the side, grabs the collar of my shirt, kisses me, and leaves without a single word. Hit and run.
So all through camp fire I'm singing about grandma's armor, but I'm thinking about Rachel's lips. I don't the what it was, but the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to do it again. I'd never thought of Rachel that way until today when she kissed me. It was a strange chemical reaction.
Halfway through the singalong, I slipped out and into the darkness, through the court of cabins, and into the forest. I had to talk to Rachel.
When I got there, I called out to her. "Rachael! Rachel! Are you in there, Rachel? "
She peeked her head outside. "Oh. It's you." She pushed the beaded curtain that separated her home from the rest of the world. She stepped out and looked me squarely in the face. "Hi," she brushed some of her frizzy red hair out of her face.
"Hey. So," I was being cautious. "What happened today?"
Rachels cheeks became pink. "Oh, well, I just. Jeese Travis, I don't even really know,"
I held up a finger. "Wait a second. Travis?"
"Yeah..." she had a slightly confused look on her face. Then, she seemed to realize something. "Oh! Oh! I see. Hi Connor. Well, um. Could you please tell Travis that I actually, really, kind of like him a lot," Her cheeks were definitely red now.
"Tell Travis?" I was starting to realize something as well. I was realizing that when she kissed me, she thought that I was Travis."Rachel," I whispered, "You kissed me today."
Rachels cheeks were absolutely scarlet. "Oh. My. Gods," she looked stunned. She covered her mouth. "Oh my gods! Connor," she bit her lip. "We'll in that case," she shook her head a bit. "I guess that means that kind of really, actually like you, " she pursed her lips. "I um. I have to go," without letting me say anything else, she went back inside, leaving me dumbfounded in the dark.
