Travis Stoll

I was lost in the underworld. I didn't know where I was, not the field of the damned, not Asphodel, and certainly not elysium. But I was definitely in the underworld, no denying it. I was searching for something, anything that would help me know where I was, but I found nothing. I searched and searched for what seemed like days, and finally, I saw something.
It was Rachel and Connor, holding eachother. They both were looking at me, there were streams of tears running down their faces, and Rachel was sobbing uncontrollably.
I shook my head and screamed one word. "No!" I started running towards them, but the Space in between me and them kept on doubling as I ran. Eventually, I lost sight of them, but I kept running against all hope. My dead lungs were grappling for air, and it felt like my heart would beat right out of my chest. Tears ran down my cheeks, I kept on running and running until-
"Aaaah!" I woke with a scream.
Some kid, (I think it was Cecil) whisper yelled at me," Dude, shut up."
I flopped back down on my pillow, breathing deeply. My heart was pounding. What a nightmare. I started thinking about it, and I realized that in the dream, I recognized that I was dead, but that's not what I was concerned about. I was concerned about getting to Rachel and Connor. Why was Rachel there in my dream? Why was she in my sub-conscience? I decided to talk to one of the Hypnos kids in the morning and figure it all out then.
I went back to sleep, hoping my dream wouldn't resume.
In the morning I went down to breakfast, looking for Connor. I wanted to tell him about my dream, but I saw him a cross the table with a girl who was unmistakably our sister.
She had the sharp nose that we all had, and she had a devilish grin that was enough for me to want to trade my entire secret stash of coke for and enchantment on my wallet. She had auburn hair and a glint in her eyes that surely got her in trouble tons of times in school without having done anything wrong.
Connor and her stood up from the table, probably to take her on a tour of Camp. I heard Connor saying, "first rule of money in the Hermes cabin: never use your own " at this, her frightening grin widened.
I shook my head. Note to self: tonight, lock up the scorpion venom where she will never find it.
I started off towards the Hypnosis cabin. When I arrived, I walked up to clovis and pulled on his ear, his head still on his pillow and his eyes still shut.
"Clovis! Get up!"
He shifted on his bed a little and then slowly dragged himself from slumber land.
He groaned loudly. "What?"
"Clovis, I need you to depict a dream for me " I wasn't trying to sell myself, or convince him, or any other crap.
Clovis stretched his arms above his head and scratched his belly. "Sure thing, Travis. Could you describe it for me?" He yawned a yawn earth rattling enough to shake his corn-silky hair.
I described it down to the very last detail.
"Hmmmm," Clovis said. "Well, the underworld obviously represents death. I'm unsure f it means for someone you know, or, the more likely possibility, based on the other signs..." He looked up at me. "Uh, well, point is, it represents death. For who? I'm not sure. But death," he giggled a little. "I'm liking this. I feel like one of those annoying psychics who tells everyone that danger awaits them..." he smiled pleasantly. Then, he looked back up at me. "Right. The dream. Er, um, the... the... uh, the growing distance could mean loneliness, or maybe seclusion or exile, " He peered at me through his long eyelashes. "Then there's the matter of your lostness. This probably represents uncertainty."
I was still waiting for his thoughts on Rachels existence in my sub-conscience. "What about Rachel?"
Clovis looked at me. "I need to know about your relationship with Rachel first. Are you freinds, just aquanted... romantically involved? "
I had to think about this. "Well, we were sort of business partners for a short period of time, then there was a falling out and- you know."
Clovis started snoozing again. I snapped my fingers in front of his nose. "Huh? Oh, yes. Well, have you been thinking about her romantically or anything? Because the position she took would most normally be taken by significant others."
What he said scared me because I sort of did like her in that way.
