Seaweed Got Your Ankle

Danger is lurking

Inside the restaurant, Annabeth looked around to find 18 separate, round tables, each covered with a white table cloth and adorned with beautiful, yellow sunflowers. The large table in the middle of the room, where Hazel, Frank, Reyna, and Calypso sat, had been reserved for their party of 9. Almost everything had been constructed of polished timber wood. A rack of to the side held multiple bottles of wine. Annabeth admired the beautiful and precise construction of the building. But the best part, was what was on their table, on their plates.
Annabeth’s stomach grumbled. Without hesitating, Leo handed her a slice of cheese and tomato pizza.

“There, all better?”
Annabeth whispered a thanks, then sat down next to Frank. Percy and Jason came in and assembled the luggage under the table. Piper followed behind them and took a seat next to Annabeth before Percy could.

Conversations swirled around their table, Calypso described an event in which Leo almost burned himself while creating a robot that could cook eggs, Frank told about trying to talk to Arion by turning into a horse, Percy informed of his and Annabeth’s plans to be married, Reyna joked about Octavian's stuffed animals being mauled by her dogs, Piper told of her father’s new upcoming movie, Percy wondered how grover and tyson were doing back in Camp Half Blood, Hazel told of a funny conversation between she and Nico about modern technology…...etc.
Annabeth began to relax in the midst of her comforting friends and casual talks, when she saw something. A twitch off in the corner, behind the counter. And, the flash of a mischievous smile.

Piper’s POV
Piper saw Annabeth stiffen and a flash of concern cross her eyes.

“Annie? Is something wrong? If you need something more to eat, its no problem. I can easily charmspeak for a discount. I’ve also got the cornucopia in my purse and-”
Annabeth jerked around to look at Piper. In her eyes was a faint sign of warning.
Annabeth’s lips barely moved as she spoke, “Behind the counter. Look.”
In one quick motion, Annabeth stood up and, using a fast gait, headed over towards the restroom.
Piper stood up and followed her.
Inside the restroom, Annabeth began to explain, “Someone is there, someone is watching. I can’t believe I didn’t notice earlier, but I must have been to uneasy about my stomach. I don’t have my dagger with me, either.”
“We need to tell Jason,” Piper whispered.
“-and Percy,” Annabeth nodded.
She spoke quickly, “If there is danger here, we should find it quickly. I don’t need more trouble. And, frankly, I’ve had enough since that quest of ours.”
Hazel walked into the restroom.
“What are you two talking about. You’re being awfully suspicious, taking your time in here. The waitress began to look at me weirdly,” She complained.
“There is danger lurking, be on guard and pay close attention.” Annabeth spoke with stern, clear eyes.
Piper took out her cell and texted everyone the news. Then, the three girls stepped out of the restroom and back into the main section of the restaurant.
As they walked out, Piper noticed the waitress eyeing her carefully and took note of the waitresses name, which was written on her name-tag, Genevieve.
Piper looked over at Jason, who was joking casually, to see if he had seen her message. He caught her eye and gave a slight tilt of his head to signal his response.
'Good, if anything dangerous were to happen, they would be ready,' Piper thought to herself.

Percy's POV
Annabeth didn't have her weapon. Percy remembered his promise to her, 'I’ll just have to protect you with my mighty awesomeness.'
At that time, Percy hadn't believed they would actually encounter anything dangerous. Luckily, his weapon was always located within his pocket, as a pen, and could never be lost.
Percy probably would have forgotten it, otherwise. But Annabeth, she didn't have her weapon and he needed to look out for her.
Percy was aware that Annabeth was strong and capable (oh, and smart. Not to mention, more beautiful that any descendant of Aphrodite. [Sorry, Piper.] ), but if he ever lost her...he would be broken. Percy had felt this way even before he and Annabeth first dated, but the feeling had become stronger since they had gotten engaged.
Watching carefully, he observed every movement made that was close to the counter.
That's when he saw something.
In a frightened whisper, he warned, "Dr Thorn, the manticore."

Great update!

Thank you! It's supposed to symbolize the seven being pulled back into dangerous events(if that makes any sense)
