Chapter 1 [Thalia's POV]
Ugh. I can't believe that Artemis is making me go to high school! She says she wants me to go to recruit new members for the hunt but truthfully I think she just wants me to go to high school for "fun and education". Like I'll find any of those there! And it's not like I'll find any girls who want to swear off men for the rest of their life's in a high school! They practically live for boys! They swoon and become servants to boys! Ugh, no thank you!
At least I'll know someone there. When I find out I was going to high school I asked Artemis to at least let me go to a high where I know people in the same grade as me. I mean face it who wants to be the new kid who doesn't know anyone? Not fun.
So anyways back to the point. So a few weeks later I was told I would be going to Goode high school. It sounded familiar but I didn't know where that was.
Artemis must've seen the look of confusion on my face.
"It is the high school Percy is now attending."
"Kelp face?" I asked.
"Yes that boy." Artemis said but not with disgust. Percy had earned her respect long ago.
"So...ugh never mind I won't complain." I said.
Artemis nodded in approval.
"So...when do I leave for Goode?"
"You start in the morning." She responded.
"What?! As in tomorrow morning?!" Artemis nodded.
"But Lady Artemis we are getting tons of new girls. You'll need me to help train them and-" I started
"Thalia you know that we are not getting very much girls here you will be fine." Artemis stated.
I nodded reluctantly.
"Now go and rest. You will need it for the morning."
I got up and bowed then walked towards my tent. Ugh. School. With only the company of kelp face. It'll be a long school year.
In the morning I said good bye to my girls.
"If any high school boys flirt with you beat them up for me."
"You know it sister!" I exclaimed.
"And no going to school dances!"
"Unless it's with friends." I state.
"Give percy a good punch in the arm for me!" I laughed.
"Way ahead of you!" They all smiled.
I said my final goodbyes.
"Bye sisters I'll see you soon!" I exclaimed. And I was off.
When I arrived at good I walked to the office. I got my schedule, found my locker, and started walking. For the first time today I looked down at what I was wearing. I had my dark blue skinny jeans on and my knee high denim boots (that are extremely cute) I was wearing this loose black T-shirt that looked like it had silver paint splattered on it. My silver charm bracelet and my newest accessory. A necklace. It had a crescent moon with a little star dangling from the top. The crescent moon was studded with different shades of grey and silver stones. I was looking down at it when I ran into a body of muscle and fell on my butt. Ugh jerk. I bet I was some annoying high school jock. I looked up and saw a muscular boy with a tan, raven black hair, and sea green eyes.
Percy. Oh so I wasn't that far off.
"Watch it kelp face." I said. Accepting his hand up.
"Says the one who was looking down pinecone face." He responds. We hugged.
I Iris-messaged him last night telling him I was coming.
"It's good to see you Thals." He said.
"Same goes to you Perce."
He grabbed my schedule.
His grinned widened.
"What?" I ask.
"Nothing. Just we have most of our classes together. Really Thalia Greek for language and Greek mythology?"
"Oh like you didn't take those classes." I respond.
"Shut up." He says playfully. Then I remembered something one of my hunters told me. I punched him in the arm. Hard.
"Ow! What was that for?!" He asked.
"One of my hunters told me to do that and say hello to you. Abby." He snorted.
"Of course." He responded and I laughed.
I saw someone behind him and they held one finger to their lips. At first I was shocked but I covered it up.
"So Percy, anyone else I know go here?" I ask knowingly.
"Uh no. Why? You asked me this yesterday."
It was true. I pursed my lips. “No reason." I stepped to the side giving the girl the perfect opportunity and she saw it too. She ran and launched her arms around Percy's neck. This startled Percy so much he fell over but by instinct he rolled to the side and came up on one knee his mugger grasped by the wrist.
He looked genuinely confused. What else was new?
"Hey seaweed brain." The blonde hair girl whispered.
"Annabeth?" He asked.
She rolled her eyes.
"Who does it look like seaweed brain?" Annabeth said. She and I laughed.
"Annabeth!" He hugged her both of them still on their knees. I bent down and knelt in between them.
"Hiya" I said. And then we all laughed. I noticed a half a paper in her hand and grabbed it. It was a schedule.
"You're coming here for high school?" I ask. She nods excitedly.
I look at the schedule
1- Gym - Gleeson hedge
2- English - Mr. Blofis
3- Science - Mr. Todd
4- Greek Mythology- Mr. Riordan (-I had too!-)
5- Math - Mrs. Trendz
6- Greek [language] - Mrs. Carin
"Seriously?" I ask her.
"What?" She responds.
"Every single class together. What about your Wednesday class.
On Wednesday you have a choice you had to make study hall or an extra class. I chose study hall.
"Architecture." She responded.
"Really? Greek, Greek mythology, and architecture? Cheater." Percy accuses. Annabeth just rolls her eyes.
"Hey guys?"
"Hmm?" They respond.
"How about we get off the floor?" We all laughed and slowly got off the floor.
"Did you guys hear we have block schedule here?" Percy asks.
"Huh?" I respond.
"Apparently not. Anyways, Monday and Thursday we have first, third, and fifth. And on Tuesday and Friday we have second, fourth, sixth. And you already know the Wednesday thing." He looked at the end of the hall when he finished talking and silently cursed in Ancient Greek.
"What?" Annabeth asked.
"Look if this guy comes up just ignore-" he started.
"Hey Prissy." I saw Percy jaw clench.
"Hello Kyle." He spat like this was the worst insult.
"How's that little tournament going? I hear you're losing some members?" Kyle says.
"Well duh you're beating them up enough for them to go to the hospital just because you don't like me! Of course they're going to quit the team! Do you mistake us for idiots?" Percy said.
"Actually yes I do." Kyle said but Percy seemed to be excepting this answer.
"Eh, I'm afraid I can't judge you. We tend to mistake the football team for a bunch of idiots as well." Percy says his jaw still clenched.
"Yeah whatever Jackson. What are you doing hanging around these newbie losers anyway? I'm sure your 'girlfriend' would love to hear about you hanging out with two hot chicks." He made quotation marks around girlfriend and I was about to knock the living daylights of this guy but I saw Annabeth and she sent a clear warning. No. Ugh!
"They are not losers. They are my friends. And the hot chick is my girlfriend. Any other threats that you think intimidate me but don't?" Percy said getting angry now.
"Oh prissy of course I have more. But you know very well I'm not the one you need to be worried about."
"Go ahead and tell him that he doesn't intimidate me either. Goodbye Kyle." Percy said dragging us along past Kyle.
"What was that all about? And did he seriously use Clarisse’s nickname for you?" Percy laughed.
"Yeah he did. Beginning this year the football team beat up the swim team. There trying to get the swim team to quit because right now we're both able to go to nationals if we win a few games but the school can only send one of their teams because they are broke so yeah they've been beating up swim team members."
"Boys!" I say.
"You're on the swim team?" Annabeth asks
"Yeah." Percy says confused.
"Cheater." Annabeth accuses. Percy just shakes his head and rolls his eyes.
"Anyways let's start heading towards first period. Gym."
