The Daughter of Death

Meanwhile at Camp

5 am at Camp Half Blood

Percy was enjoying his sleep. Since the battle with Gaea had ended, all of his dreams were nothing about monsters or quest or life-and-death battles. Instead, they were closer to home. He dreamt of his father's palace, of meeting Tyson, of his family at that old apartment complex together with Paul. Most of all he dreamt about his future with Annabeth.

There was this unrealistically loud knocking.

Percy sat up.

"Woah, what?" he yelped. His hair was a mess and there was drool on his right cheek. He rubbed his eyes. He scanned the room. There was no one there.

"Seaweed brain!!"

Percy got out of bed and quickly opened the door. His eyes met a bright light and he quickly shielded his vision.

"For Olympus sake," Annabeth mumbled slightly amused. "There's an emergency meeting at the big house. Nico's got a lead on the new prophecy."

Percy gathered his wits, enought to let out a nod.

"Oh, and seaweed brain" she giggled. "You have drool on your face."

5 minutes later Annabeth and Percy entered the Rec Room. Counselors from different cabins all surrounded the ping pong table they use for these meetings. As soon as Annabeth and Percy sat down, Nico stood up.

"Ok first," he started seriously. "I'm really sorry we had to meet this early but I came as soon as I got back. After yesterday's new prophecy I figured I should dig around the underworld for clues and leads."

"So what did you find?" Piper worried.

"Chaos" Nico answered gravely. "It was almost like there was political unrest in underworld. Though, this wouldn't cause any souls to leave or monsters to survive after being killed like what Gaea did, it still makes me feel nervous. There was this black smoke everywhere, and those who come in can't come out. It was also darker down there than I remembered."

Annabeth notice Chiron had a dark look on his face. A sense of dread quickly washed over the room.

"Wait a sec," Clarisse voice echoed. Her voice had this sense of danger that cut the atmosphere in the room. "I don't mean to sound like what I'm going to sound like, but the prophecy said something of a child of death having a trick up his sleeve. I mean, I don't wanna judge you Nico but your not the most qualified to gather information about this."

The counselors stared at Nico. Some quickly shifted their eyes to the ground or their feet. The camp has dealt with traitors before, and now, with a new traitor being part of the prophecy, trust becomes a risk.

"He won't betray us," a calm voice spoke. "We can trust Nico, his intentions are good. Plus I don't know any other demigod that could sacrifice so much for the sake of this camp."

Nico eyes quickly darted toward the speakers direction. Will Solace has healed everyone's doubts.

"Yeah, I agree with Will." Percy chimed in.
"I can say we all agree with him." Annabeth added. "We trust you Nico."

All of a sudden, Grover burst through the door.

"Chiron, we have a powerful one!" he screamed in urgency. The whole congregation stared at him. Annabeth got up.

"Ok, Will, Nico, and Butch, you guys will be in-charge of rescuing the new demigod. Heal her, we don't know how injured she is. Plus Nico, we would need your strength if ever she was followed by monsters. Piper we would need you to contact Camp Jupiter about the new intel we just received." Annabeth ordered calmly. "To the rest, we still have time before breakfast, so we should think of a way to solve this prophecy. Any questions?"

With that, the longest discussion of counselors have begun.
