Percabeth Moments

I heard the door to our apartment in New Rome open and saw Percy walk in.

"Hey Seaweed Brain," I greeted him.

"Hey Wise Girl," he responded. He walked past me and kissed me on the cheek. "Did you buy groceries from the market?"

"Percy, that was your job," I say, annoyed. He always forget when I told him to do things. But today I felt extra annoyed. Maybe it was stress from having two exams today and three tomorrow.

"Sorry, I just thought you'd do it ya know- since your the woman and-"

"Percy! Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I do all the cooking, cleaning, and shopping! I thought we were going to take equal responsibilities when we moved here for college!" I yelled.

"Annabeth, I didn't mean it like that! I just forgot-"

"Oh like you forget everything I ask you to do? Lately it seems I'm the only one doing work around here!" I don't know why I was mad. I just was. I didn't want to yell at Percy. But I did and there was no going back now.

We went on bickering about other topics that seemed pointless. The bickering soon turned into fierce arguing.

"LIVING HERE JUST ISN'T WHAT I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE SOMETIMES!!" I yelled, tears threatening to come out. I blinked them back.


"WELL I'M NOT SOME MAGICIAN WHO CAN MAKE EVERYTHING PERFECT FOR YOU! YOU KNOW WHAT?!" Percy yelled. He quickly raised his hand upwards and started to get closer to me. I backed up in shock. Percy then froze, realizing what he was about to do then quickly lowered his hand. We both stood there in silence, processing what just happened. Percy then started running down the hall to our room, burying his face in his hands.

"Percy, wait!" I yelled, following him.

I noticed the door to our room was closed. I stood there for a moment, deciding if I should open the door or not. When I heard muffled sobs, I slowly opened the door. Percy was sitting on our bed, his face in his hands, crying. I'd only seen Percy cry a couple times before. It was a rare sight. I slowly walked up to the bed and sat down next to him. I put my hand on his back.

"Annabeth, I'm sorry," Percy cried. "I-I didn't want to yell at you and I'm a horrible person, I'm the worst person in the world for doing this to you and-"

"Percy it's OK." I interrupted. "I was overreacting and being stupid. Don't blame yourself."

"But Annabeth!" Percy sat up. His hair was disheveled and tears were spread across his face. "Annabeth, I promised to myself, that I'd never hit you. Because of Gabe, I didn't want to be like him. And I almost did which makes me a horrible person! I'm so sorry."

"Percy you're not a horrible person. Every couple has fights. And you're NOTHING like Gabe. You're sweet, and kind, and an amazing boyfriend. So don't you ever compare yourself to him."

Percy wiped his eyes. "Annabeth, I love you."

"I love you too Percy," I replied hugging him. After the hug I leaned up and kissed him on the lips. "You relax for a while, I'll make dinner." I got up and walked out slowly closing the door behind me.

Percy kept apologizing throughout the day and we went to bed early that night.
