The Wounds Will Always Bleed

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

"The Wish."

Mother calls from downstairs. I stare at the empty walkway towards the steps, in a gaze. I want to go down, but I don't want to. It will be too painful.
"Yes Ma! I'm coming! Shut up already", I shout at her. It's the middle of Fall, and my birthday is today. I'll finally be turning thirteen, but I don't want to. Age is too much of a hassle. I walk down the stairs softly and quietly, preventing myself from being too much of a disturbance today. The cake is burnt, the bottom layers covered in ash. I only have one candle on this mess, and it reads three. I pout as I blow out the candle. In my head it keeps repeating uncontrollably, my thought of grandeur, "I want a LIFE."
Everyone else is asleep, as I sit on the musty couch. The babysitter in place of my mother is in the kitchen, making herself a meal. Under my bottom I can feel the stitching loosening every second. The mystical beauty of the grandfather clock is leaving me in a trance, as I watch the hands move. It's been about four hours, and the day is almost over. I can't stop waiting for my wish, hoping it'll arrive sooner.
I hear footsteps as soon as the hand strikes midnight. I look back at the babysitter. I don't need a babysitter. As I look closer, I can't help but say aloud, "I don't need this". The babysitter isn't a babysitter. It's a baby killer. She is a hideous creature, large and skinny. She is human-like, covered in scales and bearing fangs that of a tiger. She approaches me as I crawl backwards, trying to stay away from her. 'It' won't stop getting closer!
The faint noise of police sirens echoes throughout the night streets as I run for my life. I'm just glad I had daytime clothing on. The baby killer is running after me, trying to get closer every turn I make. I don't know why this is happening, or WHAT is even happening, but this isn't what I wished for. Oh no no no, it is not what I wished for.
Along the street I see two boys of my age, not from my school, walking along. The boy on my right has spectacles, a tan complexion, and brown oily hair. The one on the right has 'vampire pale' skin, and a dirty blonde hairdo. I shout for them, telling them to run, but they stand there looking.
