Camp Legacy

Chapter 22

--Alexis’s POV--

I walk back to my cabin in disappointment. I thought this was supposed to make me happier.

“Great. Now I feel worse,” I say aloud.

I lye down on my bed, and start to daze off into sleep. I hear someone burst through the door. Immediately, I jump up sword in hand.

“Whoa. Whoa!” I hear a guy’s voice say. He flips the lights on, and puts his hands up in the air. It’s Tommy. Ugh.

“You know, you shouldn’t be barging into people’s private cabins. Especially when it’s mine,” I say watching as my sword disappears. I throw myself on the bed. I fold my arms over my chest, "If this isn't important, I'll kick your ass."

"Your parents are important right?" he says.

I hop off my bed, "What do you know about them?"

"I had a dream. They were in an underground cavern. They were captured," he finishes. "But the good news is that I have a good idea of where they are.”

How could he know this. He has never even seen them. No one here has except Percy, Annabeth, and all them. Unless...

I don’t trust him. I mean why would he have a dream about it? And how would he know they were my parents? He has only known me for like a day. And how in the world would he know where they are from a dream? Is that even possible? And who sleeps during capture the flag? I’ll figure it out with Chiron tomorrow.

I mind as well play into his game, and act like I trust him. I hug him. As much as it pains me to do it. I can tell he is uncomfortable. His shoulders are tense, and I can feel his hairs stand up on his neck.

“Well; gotta run to tell the others. See ya later,” he says uncomfortably.

“Uh; okay. Thanks for the info,” I stutter letting go of him.

I lay back down on my bed, and fall asleep.

--Dream--

I stand alone in a pure white room; it is light as day in here. I walk to find that the room is endless.

“Trust the ones you call friends,” a man’s voice says.

“Who are you?” I yell.

“All will come together in time child,” he answers.

Everything disappears; the room is now a dark cavern. I look around, and see that I am in chains, along with Tess, Kolton, Serg, Forest, Love, and Christian. I see my parents too. Life is in the middle of the room on her knees, tears streaming down her face.

“Choose!” I hear another man’s voice boom.

I wake up with Uncle Nico shaking me.

“What?!” I yell.

“Your friends are waiting for you in the dining pavilion,” he answers.

"And that means anything?" I shout. I realize I was rude, and correct myself, "I guess I should thank you."

I get up, and go into my bathroom taking some clothes in with me. I change in there into a camp t- shirt, and pair of blue jean shorts. I walk back out.

"Why?" Uncle Nico asks.

"Why what?"

"Why did you feel the need to thank me?" He says. "Did you have a nightmare or something?"

I nod my head slowly while lacing up my combat boots(Author's Note: Yes this is the style in my city. Combat boots or cow girl boots with shorts.;)

He comes over to me, and helps me up.

"Tell me about it," he says softly.

"I thought you said I had friends at breakfast?"

"I did, but-"

He doesn't even have time to finish his thought because I start to sprint to the pavilion. I don't really want to talk about my dream, but I accept that I'll have to do it later.

I look back. He's running after me yelling stop.

"Catch me if you can?!!!!" I yell.

Only seconds later, I'm falling to the ground because Life tackles me.

"Hey!" I yell at her, and give her a playful shove.

"Wow. You're in a good mood," she says.

"Yeah. Your dad, and I were playing tag," I say putting air quotes around playing tag.

"What did you do?"

"Nothing!" I plead.

He finally catches up, "You caught her!"

He picks me up, or at least tries.

“Weak,” I mutter.

He frowns at me; I smile.

“So, you want to get breakfast?” Life asks helping me up.

“Yup,” I say.

We all walk to the pavilion, and go our separate ways. Life sits with the group, and I sit with Rachel. She is one of my friends. I sit with her once a week.

“So, anything new?” she asks.

I hesitate, “Nope. Not at all.”

“You're lying.”

“N-No I’m not,” I lie.

"Yes. You are," she says.

"Fine. You got me," I admit. "I had a dream. I was in an endless white room; a voice told me to trust the ones I call friends. Then it quickly turned into a cavern. I was in chains, and so was everybody else. My parents were there too….Life was in the middle of the room crying. Then a man’s voice boomed CHOOSE! And then I woke up. The weird part is that Tommy said he had a dream of where my parents are. Is that even possible? I’ve known him for like one day.”

“I don’t know, but it sounds like you shouldn’t trust him,” Rachel says.

“Trust me; I don’t,” I answer. I get up with my food, “I’m going to go tell the others.”

I walk over to the table, and tell them my story.

“I don’t think we can trust him,” Tess whispers.

“I admit that is pretty weird, but I think we can,” Life counters.

I didn’t tell them about us being chained because I don’t know if they will get scared or not.

After arguing if we should trust Tommy or not, we conclude on trusting him. Well, at least everyone but Tess, and I.

“So, its agreed? We are skipping camp tonight,” Kolton confirms.

We agree, and go our separate ways. I go pack; not much, but enough. I make sure to lock the door behind me. Since people think it’s okay to barge into people’s private cabin’s.

Knock, knock, knock.

I shove my bag under my bed, and walk over to the door. I open it to find Tess. She walks in. I close, and lock the door behind her.

“So, what’s up?” I ask.

“Do you trust me?” she asks.

“Yeah.”

“Would you believe me if I said I had the same dream as you?”

“Maybe,” I reply.

“You didn’t tell everybody what you saw in the cavern. With Life crying, and everybody else tied up.”

“You’re right,” I say. “So what? Why didn’t you say anything?”

“It still doesn’t make sense to me,” she answers. “I just know we shouldn’t trust Tommy.”
