Rogue Beauty

Forest Beauty

He shows me the cabins then leads me towards the archery range. We mess around a little, and shoot a few arrows. I actually make a couple bullseyes.

A kid with blond hair, and hazel eyes walks up.

“Do you think she could be one of us mate?” he asks looking at Trent.

“I don’t know. Maybe?” he answers.

The boy walks away, and back to his firing station.

“Who was that?” I ask.

“Keith, the co-counselor of the Apollo cabin,” Trent replies.

“Oh.”

We go on to see the climbing tower, and the amphitheater. He also shows me the stables which smell nasty. He points out where the arena, bathrooms, and the campfire is. He shows me a building. He says it’s a gun range. I jump at that since my dad used to take me there all the time. I guess it was mandatory that he go twice a week. Did I mention that he was spec ops?

“Nobody ever comes here,” Trent says. “Everybody likes to be old fashioned and use swords.”

“Well not me,” I say.

I walk right in leaving Trent behind in my dust.

“Hey wait. What are you doing?” he asks once he gets in.

“You’ll see,” I answer.

“But-”

“Here put these on,” I cut him off handing him a pair of headphones. They’re the ones you use when you don’t want to blow your eardrums out. I put a pair on myself.

I take a good look at the wall that is filled with guns. I take a Beretta PX4 Storm Compact Semi-Auto Pistol off the wall, and make sure it’s loaded. It is, but with celestial bronze bullets.
I walk over to the target, and aim. One, two, three, four, five times I fire. They all hit the little, red dot in the middle.

I take off my head phones.

“You’re good. Where’d you learn to shoot like that?” Trent compliments.

“My dad was in spec ops. He taught me a few things.”

“What?” he shouts.

I take his headphones off.

“My dad was in the military.”

“That explains it,” he chuckles.

I put the gun back on the wall, and we walk out of the building.

I hear a horn of some sorts.

“It’s time for lunch,” Trent says.

He leads me to a pavilion. There like twenty different tables. Some tables are full, and others are empty, or have few people at them.

Trent shows me where to get food, and shows me where to sit. The table is uncomfortable, and too crowded. I sit in a corner seat. I watch Trent as he goes, and sits by himself at a round table.

"So. Is he your tour guide?" a girl next to me says.

"Yeah," I answer. The girl has red hair. Her eye color seems to be changing every five seconds. She's probably like fourteen. Maybe fifteen.

"Isn't he cute? It's too bad he is taken," she says.

"Yeah," I mutter smiling in my head cause he's my boyfriend.

"I hear the girl he's dating died, and came back to life. She saved a kid from the Ares cabin, and your tour guide. I really admire her bravery for that."

"Well thanks," I blurt out.

"Wait. You're Peyton Armstrong?" she asks with an excited look.

"Uh. Yeah," I answer shoving a spoonful of mac 'n' cheese into my mouth.

"Are you kidding me?" she practically yells.

"Nope," I say with a mouthful of mac 'n' cheese.

She goes on to say something else, but my mind wanders into an abyss. Meaning I'm off in lala land.

Someone taps me on the shoulder. I turn around to see Trent motioning me to get up, and get into a big line. I grab my plate which still has like everything on it, and get in line.

"So what am I supposed to be doing?" I ask.

"Just scrape the rest of your food into the fire. The gods like the smell," he exclaims.

I scape the food off, and into the fire when it's my turn. Then I set my dishes down in the big stack.

“Come on. I’ll show you my favorite spot in the forest,” Trent says pulling me away from the pavilion.

We walk deep into the woods. Since we go off the dirt path, and I’m wearing shorts, my legs get all cut up.

“We’re here,” Trent announces.

I take a look around. It’s a small clearing that has a little stream with a waterfall in it(It’s like one foot tall). Nine big rocks sit in a circle with a small fire pit in the middle. A small canopy of tree branches allow little sunlight to come through. The birds are chirping, and the bugs are making whatever noise they make. It looks like some place from a romantic movie.

“Wow,” is all I can say.

“I like to come here when I want some peace, and quiet. This place clears my head,” Trent says. “I’m pretty sure I’m the only one who knows about this place.”

“Coming from the son of death, that’s sorta funny. Ya know since this place is full of life,” I chuckle.

“Yeah,” he mutters.

"This place is breathtaking."

"It was when I first discovered it," he answers.

I sit down on a rock. Trent sits next to me. He put his hand on mine.

"Hey. Um. I have a question for you," I mutter to Trent.

"Go ahead," he answers.

"Why were you staring at my back earlier?"

"Umm..."

“Leo!! Hurry up!!” I hear a voice yell.

“I’m coming!” another voice yells. “I’m coming!”

We run to the end of the clearing. Trent climbs a tree, and helps me up.

Is see Annabeth, Nico and four others enter the clearing.

“I thought that you were the only one who knew?” I whisper-scream at Trent.

“Nooo. I said I was pretty sure,” he answers.

“Did you hear that?” a deep voice says.

“Hear what?” Nico says.

“Someone’s here,” the deep voice says again.

“Look around,” says some guy with black hair.

We move from tree to tree to get back to camp without those people seeing us. I try to step on a thick branch, but I accidentally step on a thin one. I fall, land on my shoulder. I scream then quickly cover my mouth realizing that the people could have heard that.

"Over there," a girl's voice says.

I start running. I turn around to see Trent right behind me. We run into a path. We keep running until we see a fork in the path.

"Split up!" Trent yells.

He runs one way, and I run the other.

"Stop!" someone yells.

Who says stop like that. It's just like how a cop would tell a robber to stop. Does the robber stop? No, so why should I?

"I command you to stop!" she yells again. This time it seems as if she is right behind me.

I keep running. Suddenly, I am tumbling with another girl on top of me. We stop rolling; she pins me under her. She's really pretty. I am actually jealous. She has auburn brown hair, and green eyes.

"Who are you?" she demands.

"Peyton Armstrong," I answer.

"Really?"

"Yes," I respond.

"Piper; get off of her," a guy with blonde hair, and electric blue eyes says. He has a scar on his lip.

The girl named Piper gets off me.

"What's your name kid?" he asks.

I get a little offended of that. "I am not a kid, and my name is Peyton."

"You wouldn't happen to be the Peyton Armstrong would you?" a boy with black hair, and sea green eyes asks.

Annabeth speaks up, "Yes. This is the girl I've been talking about."

"Yeah. This is her," Nico says looking away.

"Oh," the boy with black hair answers.

"So, why were you running?" he asks. "By the way, I'm Percy Jackson."

Wow. I'm sitting right I front of Perseus Jackson. I can't believe it. Annabeth said that he has saved Olympus many times.

"I don't know. It just seemed like the thing to do," I mumble.

"I see," he says.

He gives me a hand up. I brush myself off, and check to see if I have a concussion. My friend's soccer coach taught is this. You close my eyes, and put my arms out in front of yourself. If you feel like you're falling then you have one.

I close my eyes, and put my arms out in front of me.

"What are you doing?" someone asks.

"She is checking if she has a concussion. Duh," Annabeth says. Of course she would know.

I don't feel like I'm falling, so I'm good. I open my eyes, and stand before them.

"So do you want to hang out with us?" a Latino boy asks.

"Uhh. I really can't. This is my first day out of bed for like ever, and my boyfriend is showing me around."

"Okay. Well. See you later," the Latino boy says.

They start to walk away.

I jog down the path toward camp. At least I think it's the path toward camp. I better go back, and check.

I run back to the group. I'm still a little behind, but I can hear them talking.

"She was immune to my charm speak. Don't you think that is weird?" Piper says.

"Ehh. I don't know," the latino boy says.

"Hey guys. Um. How do I get back to camp?" I ask.

They turn around looking a bit startled.

"Just take this trail all the way back to camp," Percy answers.

"Okay. Just making sure," I say. I turn on my toes, and jog off.

I wonder what she meant by she was immune to my charmspeak.

Was she talking about me?

This is a cute story so far! Peyton sounds like a super model, and I like her conviction. He is obviously not afraid to do what's right, and has a good head on her shoulders. Also I like how tall she is, because as a tall girl, I know firsthand that it can make you feel awkward, but she really owns it, which suggests that she has a refreshing dose of confidence. So far so good!

Keep it up its amazing

There is a reason she is "too perfect", and not everyone is "swooning" over them. thanks for the feedback though.
