Make Them Burn

"Annabeth! There's been another disappearance!" I heard Percy yell as he ran towards me, his sneakers making a loud clomping noise against the ground. His hair was a bit messier than usual and there were beads of sweat on his forehead.

"Another?" I reply with a saddened tone. I was sitting outside the Athena cabin on my Demi-Laptop which Leo and the Hephaestus cabin made. I was making a spreadsheet showing all the missing demigods. "Who are they?" I ask.

"It was a girl, a little girl, only eleven. Her name was Skyla Estman and she's new to camp. Her parent's Apollo," Percy explained. I let out a heavy sigh and wrote her name, age, and godly parent into the spreadsheet.

"Do you know when she disappeared?"

"Well, Will said that she was working at the infirmary all day. He said she left to take a break around one-thirty yesterday. She wasn't at last nights dinner and didn't report to the Apollo cabin last night."

I wrote down the important parts of what Percy said and then leaned back against the bench I was sitting on. I looked up at the clouds, trying to think. I felt Percy slid next to me on the bench.

"I just don't know what's happening!" I say. "Where could all these half-bloods be going?!"

"Well, remember when Kronos was trying to rise, he had help with gathering followers, some of them being demigods," Percy suggested.

"Yeah, but what are the odds of another Titan lord or earth mother rising," I reply, half serious and half joking.

"Well," Percy smiles. "You never know when you're a demigod."

"Why can't we get a break?" I sigh. It's only June, but Percy and I just finished our senior year and we would be going to Camp Jupiter for college in September. "What if we don't figure out the disappearances by September? What do we do then?"

"We'll figure it out, Wise Girl," Percy tries to reassure me. "Trust me."

I wanted to believe him, but it was so hard. We've been doing everything we could, but nothing's was working. We had campers guarding the camp, traps set up for any possible monsters or anything/anyone else who could be causing this, and Leo is even getting succurity cameras set up. I doubted it would work, but I had to have hope.

"Hey," Percy said, trying to cheer me up. "Why don't we go get some lunch, you've been in your little work bubble all day." I agreed and we got up and walked to the dining pavilion, holding hands. But all I could think about was poor Skyla, wherever she was.

ll TIME LAPSE ll

I sat at the campfire, my head on Percy's shoulder, trying to focus on the good things going on. Piper and Jason's hands were intertwined and they were both smiling. Nico and Will, who were now officially dating, sat together. Will had his arm around a very detested looking Nico, but on the inside he was definitely smiling. I could tell. Hazel and Frank, who Nico shadow traveled here with Reyna when the disappearances started, were also holding hands. Calypso and Reyna sat next to each other since Leo wasn't here. In fact, I had no idea where Leo was.

I pushed the thought out of my mind for the next fifteen minutes. He was probably just tinkering with a new trap or something. After those fifteen minutes went by, I saw Leo running towards us with a panicked look on his face. He ran to right in front on the fire and tried to shush us.

"Leo! What's wrong?!" Calypso stood up, looking worried.

"Guys," Leo said between breaths. "You're not gonna believe me, but I think I just found a new monster. And they might be the ones causing the disappearances!"

Notes

So this is the first chapter! I hope you all like it. It is kind of short and doesn't have much action but it is the Pilot. The chapters will get more entertaining as they go on. Anyways, remember to comment, vote, and subscribe!
