Make Them Burn

Most of the camp was following me now. I hope I'm right about this monster. I was walking to the campfire from Bunker 9 when I found it. The monster was pale, almost white. It had long fangs and blood red eyes. Other than that, it looked like it could have been a normal half-blood if you took away the paleness, fangs, and red eyes. Right when it saw me it lunged, trying to bite me. I hoped out of the way and used my fire. I hit it's hand and the hand had burnt to ashes in a matter of seconds. I figured I wouldn't kill the monster so we could find out what it was. I had a hunch that this monster was behind everything. I caught the monster in a last minute trap and now I'm leading everyone to it. I could only hope I was right.

"Alright everyone, we're getting close," I say. Once we approached the monster, which I had tied to a tree, a couple people gasped.

"Leo, what is that?!" Piper gasped.

"I don't know," I said. "I found it in the woods while walking to the campfire and it attacked my. It's really fast and really strong. Tying it up wasn't easy."

Annabeth walked closer to the monster, examining it. "It almost looks like a vampire. But those don't exist. Where's it's hand?"

"I burnt it off. It turned to ashes in seconds," I explained.

"Guys!" Rachel exclaimed, making her way to the front. "I don't know what's happening! I think the oracle is coming back!" Suddenly her eyes trend green and smoke billowed out of her mouth.

"The monsters shall form an army they will use to attack
The half-bloods must train, so they can fight back,
For these monsters can only be killed in a special way,
By using only fire or a silver blade,
And there is also a price to pay."

Everyone was silent for a moment.

"Form an army," Percy muttered. "That's it! They're forming an army of half-bloods to attack! That's why they're all disappearing!"

"Yeah, but why would they turn to their side?" Jason asked.

"How about our cabin researches the monsters and we can see if we can find anything," An Athena kid pipes up.

"That's a good idea," Chiron says. "We'll also need a lot of silver swords,"

"We'll make them!" Nyssa says.

"We can also train in the arena!" Percy says.

"Good idea," Chiron replies. "If anyone sees these monsters, alert me immediately."

"We should also get some people from Camp Jupiter to help," Nico says.

"I will contact them tomorrow," Chiron says. "But for now, you should all go to bed. Get some rest."

Everyone obeys and heads to their cabins. I now slept in Bunker 9 with Calypso, because she had no cabin. We went to bed in silence. She fell asleep pretty quick but I lay awake. What was the price we needed to pay?
