Fix You

Nico awoke in a cold sweat. Of course, Will was standing by his bed looking worried. (Did that guy ever leave?) Nico figured he had a nightmare, he couldn't remember the details, but he knew it was of Tartarus. But why Will looked worried, Nico didn't know.

"What happened?" He asked.

"I heard a scream about ten minutes ago. It came from here so I went to see if you were.....okay. and when I came in you were shaking and muttering things," Will explained.

"Oh," Nico said, sitting up.

"I've never seen someone shake like that during a nightmare," Will said.

"Well maybe it's because I have more things to have nightmares about," Nico muttered.

"What?"

"Crap! Did I just say that out loud?"

"Yes, now what do you mean by that?"

"Nothing," Nico said.

"You can trust me. I am your....friend, right?"

Nico sighed. "I may have umm, fallen into Tatarus." At first, Will was silent. Then he spoke.

"You know, if you need to take about it, I'm here."

"I'm fine."

"The infirmary doesn't just treat physical injuries you kno-"

"I'M FINE!" Nico snapped.

"Alright, feel free to to help with the patients anytime soon," Will said as he left. Nico rolled on his side and tried to fall asleep. He kept thinking about how Will said he was his friend. Nico didn't have a friend. Nobody wanted to be friends with him, did they? Well apparently Will did. Nico wondered if this was just an act to make Nico feel better. Then again, why would Will care? Nico decided to forget about it and rest

The rest of the day went by like yesterday. Nico rested a bit and helped Will with some patients. He acted like this morning never happened and Nico was okay with that. Once Will was done with the patients he asked Nico a question.

"Do you wanna get some fresh air with me?" Will asked Nico. "Going outside in pretty important in recovery."

"Uh, sure I guess," Nico replied.

"Great," Will smiled. "Let's go." As he turned around his hand brushed against Nico's hand. Nico froze for a moment but then jerked himself back into reality as he started to follow Will outside.

"I thought we could walk by the lake and you know, talk," Will said.

"Alright let's go," Nico agreed. He found it kind of odd that they were taking a walk by the lake but that was just something friends did, right?

Once they got to the lake they walked a little slower and started talking.

"So what were you talking to Percy and Annabeth about the other day?" Will asked.

Nico's eyes widened. "Umm why do you care?"

"Sorry. Just curious. Trying to make conversation." Will apologized. "And I may or may not have, umm, overheard."

"WHAT?!" Nico yelled.

"Woah woah Nico calm down!"

"You overheard?! I didn't exactly talk that loud!"

"Okay I was listening! I'm sorry alright! I shouldn't have listened."

"Well I didn't exactly want anyone to know."

"It's just me!"

"Yeah, just you."

Will looked hurt for a second. "I'm sorry okay. I won't tell anyone."

Nico sighed. "It's fine Will. I'm overreacting."

"Let's go back to the infirmary," Will said. Nico nodded and they said off. Then Nico realized something. It was the end of his third day. After tonight the three days in the infirmary would be over. Nico should have been happy, but for some reason,

He felt sad.
