P.R.O.T.E.C.T (On Hold)
Generous offers or Deadly offers?
Blearily I scrunch up my eyes as the sunlight. Dammit! They knocked me out twice in one day! That's not good for my self esteem. This time when I look around I see I’m handcuffed to a chair and my ankles are bound to the chair too. I frown and start trying to figure out a way to escape. I’m in a small warehouse type room, the walls are pure white and could not be any cleaner if they tried. There are no windows in site and there’s only me, my chair and I.
I take my wrists and try to pull them apart but whoever knotted them is really good! I’m struggling for around two minutes before the small door that I didn't notice before due to the fact that is was painted white and it blended in too. An extremely tall and good looking blonde man walks through the small door--having to duck to get through--he smiles when he sees me still sitting there and I struggle to keep my serious face on because I want to melt into his arms!
OMG why am I thinking this? I've never met the guy! Heck, I don’t even know his name! He looks like a short haired but taller Legolas from, The Lord Of The Rings. And Legolas is my breaking point.
“Hello, Hope, My name is Lucas.” He seductively introduces himself and I swallow hard trying not to show fear. “I’ll be taking you to the boss.” He say boldly. Before uncutting my strings and taking my cold hand. His warm one instantly warms up my cold one.
“You will not run away.” Is simply all he say next and I have a strange feeling to stay put with Lucas no matter what my mind wants. Odd.
“Ok.” I respond robot-like not really caring at this point in time.

We arrive at the bosses office after going through the white house. Wait ‘till Emily hears about this! Will I ever see her again? I hope so.
The door in front of Lucas and I swings open and I peer in too see a youngish italian guy and and an older italian guy. I’m guessing father and son. They both see me and smile widely. The older man chuckles. I frown. What?
“So this is the little girl that caused so much trouble?” He questions.
“Yes.” Lucas says sulkily.
“Hope, did you know that after your little stunt, Lucas here had to have his groin checked?” He says seriously.
I burst out laughing! “You had to get your groin checked because I kicked it too hard!” This is just too funny! Other people in the room start giggling with me. But after Lucas gives them the death stare they stop.
“Hope what I really wanted to tell you, though, is that you have been recruited. Well done. Only the best in the world get recruited.” He tells me proudly and I just stare at him.
“Well take me home.” I say deadpan, not wanting to be a part of this ‘agency’.
“What! P.R.O.T.E.C.T is the best in the world! Others would kill to join us!” The old man argues.
“Well find another because i'm going.” I state rudely.
“Honey, i'm sorry but it's too late for that.” The younger one butts in. I look at him and raise one eyebrow as if i'm saying, ‘really?’.
“And how exactly is it too late to refuse your generous offer?” I say sweetly wanting them too let me go.
“Let’s just say that if you go, you will only get six feet away because you know to much.” He says sweetly back. WHAT! If I don't accept, they’ll kill me!
“Well I don't accept.” I say bravely. Surely they don't really mean that.
“Ok. Kill her, Lucas.” The old boss orders. Lucas grabs a knife out of his belt and stands back before winding up and throwing, without even blinking. I'm too shocked to do anything for a few milliseconds but then I throw my hands up in an attempt to block it and wait for the pain that never comes...
