The Dark Thief

I sat on a box by Lyssa, who was watching as small plants grew around her feet. How does she do that? Don't ask me. Anyway, I just stared a the small plants that grew gradually. Then, Ollie said, "It's been three weeks, time to pack and go." Lyssa groaned a bit and the plants crept back into the ground. She then sadly looked at Ollie. "Where's Nixie?" she said worridley. Her eyes darted around looking for Nixie. "Right here," she said, sarcastically struting into the alley in her make shift plaid shirt and shorts.
Lyssa smiled and Ollie laughed as Nixie flipped her hair like a movie star. "So, my blue- eyed friend, what did you find today?" Ollie teased. "Oh, just a bit of money and a $50 gift card at JCPenny's, not much," she smirked. Lyssa did a small little dance, she only had a pair of shorts and a hoodie, thats all Nixie could steal for her. Though, Lyssa said she felt better when Ollie sewed panda bear ears to the hood.
I saw Nixie expression change from happy to worried in a matter of seconds. I saw her mouth one word, "Run!" I grabbed Lyssa's wrist as Nixie yanked Ollie up and we started runnung away. "What in Hades is wrong with you two?!" Lyssa yelled as Ollie struggled to keep up with Nixie. I was panting and so was Lyssa and Ollie, but Nixie still ran hard. "Why. Do you. Make. Us run. SO MUCH?!" I yelled at Nixie. "Monster!" Nixie yelled in response. I turned to see a strange, lumbering beast with a bull's head. "That looks like, the Minotaur from my Ancient Greek textbook!" Nixie informed us.
I looked back and we couldn't be 1 mile away from the alley, when I felt a large hand wrap around me. I screamed at the rest as they punched the beast, only making it worse. Nixie grabbed a bag of powder and threw it at me, causing the monster to loosen his grip just enough so I could slip out and get away. "LONG ISLAND SOUND!!" Nixie exclaimed as we ran by a sign. "Really? No," I said sarcastically. Nixie growled really small.
I smelled the strange, sweet aroma of strawberries. I started running toward the smell. Maybe the scent would mask ours and we would lose it. "THE MINOTAUR IS CATCHING UP!!!!" Ollie yelled. Nixie grabbed Ollie's and my hand and flung us farther ahead, and helped Lyssa catch up. I heard Lyssa panting right behind me, then I heard a roar. I looked back and saw Nixie had ripped off a bit of the Minotaur's flesh with her teeth seeing as she was spitting out flesh and her lips were blood-red.
I started slowing down just as we got to a small arch. "Camp Half-Blood, sounds safe enough," Lyssa sighed. We slipped through the arch and I felt something strange go through my body. A forcefield. Nixie's mouth still had blood dripping down. Lyssa's eyes were bloodshot from crying, and Ollie was bent over like she was going to puke. We sat in the shade relaxing for a bit, trying hard to cool off, when a goat-dude came up to us. He didn't look too happy. "You guys better get farther in, if that things already re-incarnated," he said pointing to the Minotaur who was ramming himself into the forcefield. "Come with me," goat-dude said, motioning forward.
We walked a bit to a large house which was ironically called, "The Big House," which made Ollie smile. Gods, she can smile at almost everything. A horse-man greeted us, saying his name was Chiron. "You will all stay in the Hermes cabin until you are claimed," he said, which of course led to him explaining this whole, "You guys are demigods" blah blah blah, yada yada yada. You get it.
So, after he explained that, we all walked to a cabin that said, "Hermes, and the unclaimed" Great. Just great. "You will be staying here for now, that is, until you're claimed," Chiron said. As if on cue, a rainbow appeared above Ollie's head. I stared in awe as the rainbow symbol spun above her head. "A demigod," Nixie mumbled. Man, she was really into Greek mythology. "A daughter of Iris," Chiron mused. "Perfect, an example of the claiming," Chiron said as Ollie watched the rainbow symbol dissappearing above her. "Woah," is all she could say. "Isn't Iris the goddess of, like, rainbows or something? Doesn't that mean she will fart rainbows?" I asked, completely serious. "No, but-"Chiron started. A single feather fell on Ollie's tanned nose, causing her to sneeze, rainbow- coloured sparkles, that is.
I bursted out laughing and so did Lyssa and Nixie, but Ollie sat there pouting. Chiron turned to us. "I think it's time to meet some other demigods," he said pushing us in the cabin. A bunch of faces turned our directions as Chiron led Ollie to the Iris cabin. There was a poster on the wall that said, "Poster Diary," and on it was written, blah blah is so hot, so is so-and-so, and so on. I gawked at the small amount of space there was. Nixie instantely spoke up, "Soo, anybody understand why grass girl can grow plants straight from nothing?" she said, nodding at Lyssa.
A brown haired boy started talking to Nixie as Lyssa and I walked through the cabin. I saw an empty bed that had a note on it, saying, "Sorry." This left me puzzled. I saw that the brown haired boy was obviously trying to make a move on Nixie, though he was about 4 years older than her. I smiled. I saw people giving Nixie nervous looks. Some gave me a few nervous looks, but no one seemed to mind Lyssa, in fact, since apparently she wasn't a Hermes daughter, she was already flirting with a couple cute boys. Plants grew to the height of Lyssa's calves. Everywhere she stepped, flowers grew, then crept back into the floor.
My neon blue hair kept falling in my face, so i swept it away, fussing with my nail, which had gotten caught on a bedsheet, somehow. I growled as the nail ripped off the bedsheet, flinging me backwards. I fell into the shadows, then appeared at the other side of the cabin. "Did I just teleport?" I whispered.
