If Looks Could Kill

I Am 94.6% sure I Get Possessed

Now when I imagined a quest, I imagined that we would leave straight away with full battle armour and high spirits. Instead we went back to bed and in the morning got ready like a normal day. I pack up all my stuff while the rest of the cabin wakes up. Itch sees me packing up and frowns. "What's going on, Charlie?" he questions me with a confused look on his face."I know who my mother is." I say still not looking at him. "Who?!" He says excitedly. I turn to him with a sad look on my face as I sit on the bunk and pull my red heel over my foot,"Aphrodite." I says with a slight smile. I am happy that I was claimed but not the reason I was claimed. Itch smiles at me,

“Congratulations, Charlie!” He cheers and hugs me. I wrap my arms around him and stay there. His arms are warm and caring. His cheek is pressing against mine and the slight prickles of his facial hair rubs against me. I smile at the feeling of being in his arms. Itch’s arms travel down my back towards my hips and I raise my hands to his hair. My forehead presses against his and his hot breath shoots down the side of my neck. His mouth is literally inches away from mine and I want it badly. I move my fingers into his hair and the soft, blonde-ness of it is captivating. I pull him closer to me and lean my lips to his. Even with my heels on, he is still taller than me and I love it. Then I hear a slight scream coming from behind me. I quickly pull away from Itch and reach for my mothers bracelet. I turn around and see that a little girl, Violet, from the Hermes cabin is standing there gaping at us. I sigh in relief and move my bracelet down again.

“Why are you eating, Charlie’s face?” She directs the question at Itch.

“Well I wasn’t, but I was close too it before you walked in.” He mutters under his breath. I giggle and crouch down to Violet’s height,

“Darling, Itch doesn't eat people’s faces, It's a sign of attraction and need.” I tell her. She just nods, looking confused and then smiles before walking away.

“Okay, I have no idea where that came from, I have never said something like that before in my life.” I laugh at myself.

“Well it must be one of the perks of being a child of Aphrodite.” Itch says happily. He is so fricken cute! He picks up my half packed bag and places it on my bed...well old bed and helps me to put the put the last of the stuff away.

“So can we pick up where we left off?” He asks with a glint of laughter in his eyes. I pretend to think about it for a while before nodding,

“I guess we can.”

As you can imagine that didn't happen because as soon as I moved an Inch closer to him, Percy and Piper burst through the door.

“Charlie, If you're going to go on a quest, You need to know how to fight.” Percy commands before noticing how close Itch and I are.

“Yup, you're defiantly my sister!” Piper grins. I look to Itch with an apologetic face but he has a confused look on his face,

“Itch-” I begin, but he interrupts.

“-You're going on a quest?” He asks me,

“Well...I’m not really sure,” I say with all honesty.

“Yes, she is red,” Percy says, “Charlie, She is your mother and she has asked for your help. you must help her.” He says like he's explaining it to a five year old.

“But what if I don't want to.” I say stubbornly.

“Charlie, we’ve been over this-” He says warningly. Piper rolls her eyes,

“Let’s just teach you to fight first, then we’ll talk about the quest.” She bargains. I nod my head. Sounds fair enough to me. I head out the door with Itch’s hand in mine.

“Um, Charlie you might want to put some proper clothes on.” Percy says looking down at my feet. I grin like the mad hatter and shake my head,

“Nope!”

“Ok, Charlie, before we give you a weapon, let's see how good your punches are. Percy instructs me. Itch and Piper are watching from the side of the arena. I have no boxing gloves, street style. Percy is bigger than me and I'm in heels. It's exactly like one of my street fights. I only wish my coach was here.

“Sure,” I agree to his statement, “be prepared to get your arse kicked.” I say cockily.

“Punch me, free hit.” He says. I grin, bad mistake Percy. I raise my left hand to my chin and follow with my right. I put one foot behind the other and find my balance in my heels. I whip my long ponytail backwards and push backwards before slamming my fist forewords into the side of his face. I hear the smack of my fist collide with his face and a groan escapes from his mouth in a matter of seconds as his head twists sideways and he stumbles to regain his balance.

When Percy and the onlookers get over their initial shock, Percy raises his hand for a high-five.

“That was awesome!” He cheers excitedly, he has a bloody nose and a crooked smile, I think my ring had even made a small cut in his face but it doesn't phase him at all. The other two run over to us and look at Percy’s face and then to my perfectly painted hands and back again.

“How on earth did you do that?” Itch questions me with so much confusion and amazement.

“I am-was a street fighter. I thought you would've known that but then I guess I forgot to mention it.” I say cheekily.

“You were a street fighter, in Piccadilly?!” Piper says in amazement, “How on earth did you survive?” She asks me with wide eyes.

“Boys only need one heel to their nuts and they will surrender.” I say simply with a knowing smirk.

Annabeth runs over to the arena, she has Dr. Will with her and a bunch of other campers are following them, trying to see who Annabeth was so worried about being injured. I'm not even sure how Annabeth found out so fast.

They reach us and Dr. Will gives him a glass of water-- I'm guessing it was water-- to drink. Instantly the cut from my ring starts to heal up again. Annabeth mutters something about loving Ambrosia, I love ambrosia too, yoghurt, marshmallows, chocolate all put together is amazing!

Now Percy and I have an audience, Percy decided to challenge me to a sword fight only mere hours of me picking up a sword. I guess that means I'm okay at it.

Chiron is going to be the ref and starter and what not. Apparently Percy is the best in the camp.

They had real swords and Charlie was worried, she had never fought with a sword before but Percy knew she'd never back down from a challenge.

Charlie's jeans were tight but she could still move around to her liking in them, after their warm up her muscles were perfectly ready for the fight. She tried to focus as much as she could on the fight ahead of her. She forced herself to think of her half sibling, given away by her parents, she had to win the fight for that sibling. She pushed the anger at Aphrodite to the front of her mind, planning on using that to fight with. She looked over to Percy who had the whole warrior stance going on, he looked professional with the wind swirling around his head and his muscles shining in the light. He looked like a spark ready to ignite.

She attacked first, hard, trying to play the surprise card on Percy by being quick on her feet. He read it straight away and blocked the first strike. A cheer arose from the crowd straight away. Charlie knew she had to concentrate on the fight in front of her. The fact that Percy sent her first attack down straight away made her heart race faster than being close to Itch. They continued to spar back and forth continually. Charlie felt her body growing accustomed to the fight and relaxed her mind. She soon found rhythm and began to Battle Percy at a more advanced level. She was no longer fighting only for her life, but to win.

Charlie knew that Percy was better but continued to throw all she had in it. She bounced on and off her heel, how she managed not to snap the heel, she'll never know.

Percy threw one quick move that Charlie didn't see coming and slashed right through her arm as she failed to defend it. She felt it as the pain sliced through her arm and blood seep through the cut. Angered she focused on the fight again. Determined to win, Charlie lunged forwards and tried to strike his chest, he only just managed to block it but it opened up a perfect slot to get her again.

Charlie noticed that and quickly jumped out backwards. She continued to try keep Percy off balance but in his position he was always ready to strike. His feet were like clockwork, dancing along the ground. He was a truly amazing fighter. Charlie forced herself to focus again.

Think of your missing sibling. She kept telling herself, Fight for them.

Charlie tried to get a jab in at his stomach but Percy got there faster and she took a blow to her stomach causing her to double over and lose her balance. Before she could fall, she managed to pick herself up.

She planted her foot into the ground and met Percy’s strokes again. She decided to pull out some street fighting moves and with her free hand she grabbed his other wrist and knocked his sword away as she rammed her heel into his rib cage. He was quick and jumped up and avoided most of the tension of the blow but he still groaned in pain.

She let go of him and grabbed the hilt of her sword and eyed him up for a final blow. She couldn't control her movements, she wanted to kill him. Her eyes flashed a dangerous red as she brought the sword down over Percy’s fallen body. She tried to stop herself, she could hear the crowd yelling at her to stop, but it felt like someone or something else was controlling her. Percy suddenly grabbed his sword and knocked hers out of her hands. She cried in relief as she realised she had nothing to kill him with.

He placed his sword on the ground and held out his hand to shake. Charlie reached out to congratulate him on a great battle when he coughed. Red blood oozed from the side of his lips and a raspy sound erupted from his mouth as he grabbed onto his neck.

“Help!” She screamed to the crowds. A few people ran over, she recognised them but her head was spinning as she was still fighting the monster telling her to kill Percy. Black spots appeared in her vision and a searing pain rattled down her head. A cry of pain came from her mouth as people turned their attention from the healing Percy to Charlie. Screams echoed the battle field as people saw Charlie fall to her knees, her eyes were a deep, blood red and evil radiated from them as she squeezed them shut, shutting the evil away as she subconsciously played with the blood on the ground. As she slowly fell to the ground.
