The Fall Of Olympus

My goddess sister didn't seem as much like a god and more like a demigod. She knew about most modern things, even listened to music not more than 75 years old. She understood that demigods were not just inferior beings that some gods happened to bring into existence and take pity on them, she understood that the gods relationships were to confusing and admitted that she didn't understand most of them.

She didn't completely understand how long a year was to us compared to her but knew that it was mostly because of her impartialness to any particular momment. The one thing she didn't completely understand though was how we valued our families. That was the one thing she was not an open book about all the information she would dare share was that she was the daughter of Poseidon and some goddess named Angelos and that she was somehow related to Nico's mother. She had been here for about a week and did the same thing every day. She got up, got dressed, ate, and then spends the entire day working on some form of combat.

It was probably ten p.m and she was sitting on her bed with a drachma in her hand as if contemplating to send a message or not. "Who were you going to call?" She jumped, startled.

She looked upset,"Percy can I tell you something, something you could never repeat." I nodded. "When you die the gods are going to try to force you to become one of them. Percy I want you to say no say no no matter what they threaten, or what they promise. It's awful Percy, I don't get your fear of death all of you have because I would give anything for it. It has been to long, Percy say no until there is nothing else you can say because if you say yes there will be a day when you forget Annabeth, your mom, love, pain, and fear. All that is left then is what the gods tell you.

"Percy the reason the gods relationships are so confusing is because half of them are fake and the rest of them are the half forgotten memories of deities whose time has long passed."

I was confused,"Thana what do you mean, whose time has long passed?"

She looked as if I had slapped her. "I'm sorry but I have to go." I turned my head and quite literally she was gone in a flash. I walked outside and looked around hoping; A, the harpies wouldn't see me, B, this was Thana's twisted idea of a joke. She was beating a dummy to death in the arena and crying.

My first thought was of course was why was she so upset and my second thought was what the heck had my sister gotten herself into. I stood still wondering if Thana would beat me to death I she saw me. I found myself realizing how similar to Bianca she was. She then suddenly sat down and said in my general direction,"Percy you can come out."

I walked to the arena and sat down next to her. She started talking immediately,"You asked me about family, so I'll tell you. To be honest I always sort of hated you, you were the pretty face the Olympians credited everything to. You were also who I blamed for a few peoples death. I've always sort of been ignored and I've always been okay with it, I was powerful enough without sacrifices to me to protect myself. If I could've I would have not sided with our dad on a lot, I mostly agreed with my mother on things, gods shouldn't have children just to have extra pawns, children shouldn't be forced into battle so early, precautions should be taken to keep people dead.

"Then Angelos had Maria DiAngelos and it was my job to protect her and her family. So I allowed her to come to camp for a short time where she learned how to protect herself and how to use the power Angelos had given her, to be able to live a normal life with no worry of encountering a monster because she seemed like a mortal to them.

"All I had to do was keep the gods away from her. As she got older she wanted to meet our mother more and more. I said no, Angelos is criminal in the gods eyes. She is the daughter of Hera and Zeus and she stole Hera's perfume so they bathed her in water from the underworld in hope that it would clean her from her crime and instead it tainted her. She wasn't safe to be around. Still Maria kept insisting she would be fine so I allowed her to come.

I interrupted,"Wait who gave you that job if your mom didn't?"

She replied,"The prophecy that calls for the end of the Olympians. It is to come from a descendant of the criminal from the house of Zeus and Hera. I could let them kill her, because they would've. I came here to keep them from killing Nico."

Now I was sort of angry,"Where were you when Bianca died?!" She made a disgusted face,"In a pit I hear you are familiar with." She looked into a corner that appeared to have nothing in it. "Nico are you happy now he knows?" Thana's distrust in me was painfully obvious.

Nico walked out of the corner and said,"So Percy will you help me not die?" I would've taken this very seriously if Thana hadn't started to laugh hysterically. "I'm sorry," she said,"but did you just ask Perseus Jackson to help you take down the Olympians?" That is when the reality of the situation hit me full in the face, "No." was my reply.

I had spent almost my whole life protecting the Olympians I couldn't just switch sides suddenly. Nico looked devastated,"But Percy, it all makes sense now! It's why I couldn't talk to my mom or get Bianca back, it's why they sent Bianca with you and Zoë when she barely knew how to fight! Percy I thought you were better than this."

Thana then said,"You should be grateful to him if you said no I planned on killing you but he said no." I was somewhere in between mortified and rattled. "Since when has a goddess taken orders from a demigod?" She smirked,"Since the Oracle of Delphi said it should be so."

I couldn't believe her,"Nico you just met her a week ago! There isn't even any proof that your mother was the daughter of Angelos, and even if she was why would Hades want her to have demigod children!" Nico said,"He wanted to have children that monsters and gods wouldn't know they were demigods until later he thought that Olympus's end would come from the Titans and the demigods would overthrow them and he could take the glory! It's why he took us out of the Lotus hotel for this time!"

I run my fingers through my hair and sigh,"I guess I just need some time to think about it."
