Chapter 13

Percy's P.O.V
I couldn't handle it. The look on their faces. I saw anger, sadness and my least favourite.

Pity.

I didn't need their pity. What use would it be to me? Was it going to help and get rid of the hurt and invisible scars caused by Gabe? Was it going to make me forget my horrible childhood?

I know, they were just looking out for me but it was so many years ago. What good would it be if I told them everything? The scars will forever be carved into my heart.

As I vapour travelled out of the Olympian Throne Room, I saw Annabeth's face in the crowd. Concern and understanding etched on her face with her gray eyes flashing dangerously angry.

If her emotions weren't due to the fact of my childhood, I would be laughing at how cute she looked when she was angry.

In my vapour travelling form, I made my way out of the Throne Room's doors and onto the streets of Olympus.

Running my hand through my Raven hair, I walked aimlessly, admiring the sunset and the sounds, smells and sights on Olympus.

Suddenly, I reached a garden. Huge trees were neatly planted in a row and a bridge over a pond laid in the middle. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a small campfire and the back of a familiar eight years old Goddess.

Without hesitation, I slowly walked over to the campfire and the Goddess before slowly sitting myself down on the log next to her.

"Lady Hestia." I greeted, slightly bowing as she gazed at my face. Lady Hestia rolled her eyes and cheekily said, "What did I tell you about greeting me Perseus?"

I gave her a tiny smile and answered, "You told me to call you Hestia and not to bow. And I told you I would comply if you stopped calling me Perseus."

She gave a light chuckles before returning her attention back to tending the fire in front of us. "I am not here to bring you back to the Throne Room if that's what you're thinking." Lady Hestia, I mean Hestia, sighed.

I raised my eyebrow, confusion heard in my voice. "Then why are you here, or more importantly, what are you here for?"

Hestia flashed me a blinding white smile that showed off her white teeth. "To give you back what was rightfully yours. Hope." She whispered before tapping my head and all went dark.

-LINEBREAK-

"Where am I?" I asked as I floated around in a black empty space. "Hestia?" I shouted and a calming voice echoed in the black space I was floating in.

"Percy, I have brought you to your mind. Search for what you have lost and find what is rightfully yours." The calming voice, now identified as Hestia, echoed around my 'mind' again.

"Well... At least I now know that Thalia or Wise Girl wasn't right about my mind. It's got no kelp or seaweed in it. Just a big black space." I rolled my eyes and suddenly, the black space transformed into my old apartment.

A breath hitched in my throat as I found myself staring at my old apartment with Gabe lazing on the couch. Floating, as if I was a mere ghost, I heard a small sniffle coming from the toilet.

Curiosity got the better of me and I floated to the toilet, passing through the door. 'Hopefully the Ghost Busters aren't in my neighbourhood...' I thought and I saw where the sniffling came from.

It was from me.

A ten year old me stood hunched over the sink, red blood shot eyes and tears running down my, or his, cheek. Slowly, mini me lifted up his shirt and winced as the shirt brushed against his wound.

The wound was a large and long scar that came from Gabe's belt. Mini me threw his bloody shirt into the dustbin and turned on the tap.

The sound of the running water calmed past and present me. Mini me splashed some water onto his face and some water accidentally splashed onto his wound.

Miraculously, the wound slowly closed up and instead of a bloody red scar, it was now white and faded. Mini me gasped in amazement and traced the scar with his wet finger.

"This was when you first found out water could heal you. You thought it was nothing special and that you were a freak but the water gave you Hope." Hestia's voice echoed around the toilet before I was in another scene.

Floating again like a ghost, I found myself hugging my mum, squeezing her tightly. Pulling away from the hug, sixteen year old me gave my mum a grin that showed off my white teeth.

"We did it mum! We saved Olympus!" Sixteen year old me grinned, looking more relaxed than he ever was since the last 4 years.

My mum laughed and caressed his cheek. "And now we can finally get back to not worrying about monsters everyday. Almost like a normal family!"

Once again, sixteen year old me pulled my mum into a hug, squeezing her tightly as tears of joy and relief flowed down his cheeks.

"This was after the Titan War where you had Hope that everything would be okay again." Hestia's voice rang in my ears.

She then showed me more times when I had Hope but it stopped once it came to the funeral and shroud burning of the many demigods that died.

"You stopped having Hope once you saw how many demigods died. But why? You had Hope when you were in Tartarus, Hope when you were fighting Giants and Hope during the Titan War but what happened? Where did your Hope go?" Hestia's voice echoed in my mind when she showed me the scene of demigods crying for their friends, siblings and loved ones at the Giant War's funeral.

My eyes grew dark, turning into a shade of a dark blue that almost seemed black. My demeanor changed from curious and sad to hurt and anger.

"I lost Hope when Tartarus came back to haunt my mind, reliving all my beatings from Gabe and torturing me in my own mind, my own dreams, or should I say nightmares, okay!" I screamed, giving a yell of pain, anger and hurt.

Hestia appeared before me and she gave me a smile. "Like I said, what was once yours will be returned. Your friends are coming and I believe they can and will bring your Hope back..."

Hestia approached me in her eight year old form before levitating herself up to reach my height. She tapped my forehead with her fingers and the last thing I saw was her gentle face and then, I blacked out once again.

-LINEBREAK-

Blinking open my eyes, I saw concerned faces of my friends and family. I gave them my signature lopsided smirk and propped myself up.

"I'm guessing now it's interrogation time for me?" I cheekily asked and light chuckles were heard in the air.

Aaaand... CUT! That's a wrap for this chapter. I really hope it met up to your expectations. The next chapter will be Percy's interrogation. So, I have a question for y'all. Should I make a sequel or prequel to this story? Anyway, I'll see y'all next time.
Peace Out,
HeroesOfOlympus

OMG THIS IS SO GOOD. I love the concept and your writing is really good as well! I love diving deeper into Percy's character and revealing more of his past. You're doing an amazing job! I'd say a sequel to this would be cool but it depends on how this ends. Thanks so much and can't wait to see what's next!
