Inexperienced

Things go not quite as I'd expected

I was pretty good at this. The dancing lessons I'd had came in handy when I spinned and kicked and slashed out with my sword.
At first, I was in a tree shooting arrows at all the red plumes I saw, but when they got too close I jumped onto the ground.
I only got smacked up my butt a few times, but otherwise I was unharmed. All those years of dodgeball at school had really increased my flexibility.

Until I got smacked up the head.
My helmet had tilted sideways, so when the blunt sword hit my head I blacked out almost instantly, though my unconsciousness did not prevent me from feeling the pain.
As the world faded into darkness, I just heard one thing: Aloisyus, calling my name desperately.
~
When I woke up in some place I'd never seen before, I immediately thought, This must be the infirmary. That would be the most logical place to end up when I got hurt.
I had to give it to them that it didn't look like an infirmary. Though... Now that I looked around, I noticed the small things. I was lying in a bed. The walls were a pleasant yellowish color, matching the bedspread that lay on my bed. On the chair next to my bed was a bandage kit, and on a small table sat a tall glass of some honey-coloured liquid, next to a saucer with squares made of something that looked like white chocolate.
I recognized them from the book I'd read. Ambrosia and nectar, the food of the gods. It heals demigods, but if you eat too much, you could burst into flames.
When I lifted my head, I groaned because of the throbbing pain in my head.
'Anne?' Aloisyus came through the door, looking worried. 'Of course. I leave for like 5 seconds and you choose that moment to wake up.' I shrugged, and winced when the movement made my head hurt.
Aloisyus moved the bandage kit to the floor and sat down on the chair. 'Are you feeling better?'
'Than when I blacked out? Much, thanks.' I couldn't help but sound slightly sarcastic. 'Better' meant that I had a previous situation to compare with the current situation. (Oops, rambling again.)
'Sorry,' I added. 'I'm not used to this.'
'Most people aren't. Even here.' He inched closer, wanting to check my head. Apparently someone had placed a bandage around my head, because I felt something shift when he examined me.
It was slightly embarrassing to have him look at me that closely. When he helped me sit up and handed me the glass of nectar, my hands were shaking slightly. I lifted the nectar to my lips, trying to ignore him looking at me cautiously.
When the nectar touched my lips, however, all else was forgotten.
It was like a mix between self-baked Oreos and caramel fudge. In what felt like a second, the glass was empty, a wonderful warmth spreading through my body. It was almost as if I could feel my head healing. In an instant, the pain was entirely gone.
When Aloisyus took the glass from my hand again, a frown was upon his face. He felt my forehead, and I squirmed out under his touch, feeling like a little kid.
'Hm. You're not hot at all.' I bit back a very stupid retort. 'Your wound should be a lot better now.'
Aloisyus lifted the bandage again and almost immediately retracted his hand, looking startled.
'What's wrong?' I asked, but he ignored me.
'Will! Could you come here please?' He called out. Moments later a boy with pale blond hair and an orange Camp Half-Blood T-shirt stepped through the door, a questioning look on his face.
'What is it?' He asked Aloisyus.
'Look.'
I was really getting pissed off when they both began examining my head, without telling me why.
Finally I couldn't hold my tongue any longer.
'Could you please just tell me what is going on?'
They exchanged a nervous look. Will was the first to speak up.
'Your wound... It's gone. Completely healed. Not even a scar left.' They both looked at me, waiting for my reaction.
'Um... What? Isn't that what nectar's supposed to do?'
'Well, yes, it's supposed to help the healing, but you've healed completely. I've never seen anything like it before.' Will was studying me with a slight interest, perhaps looking for signs as to why nectar had this effect on me.
'And that amount of nectar should have caused your temperature to rise drastically, but it has done no such thing. I would, however, like to keep you here for a while, because there is a chance you have a concussion.' Will had gone into full doctor-mode. My guess was that he was Apollo's son.
Suddenly, a black-haired teenage boy with a skull T-shirt appeared in the open door.
'Will? What's wrong?' Will's face lighted up as soon as he saw the boy, and he stood up.
'Her wound's healed completely, so that's good. I'll explain it to you.' He threw us an apologetic look and followed the boy outside.
'Who's that?' I asked Aloisyus.
'Nico. Son of Hades.' Aloisyus was still staring at me. It was kinda creeping me out.
'I'd already guessed that. The tee kinda gave it away.' One thought came to me, and I smiled.

I ship them.

Thanks a lot, that means so much to me! Because this is my very first story, I'm still a bit insecure about writing. All the positive comments really encourage me, thanks to everyone for that. And it's good to know that my FCE in Cambridge English is paying off;).

I love this story; the plot line is very easy to follow. And ditto to what @Edge of Tartarus said; You have great grammar!
