Inexperienced

I go from bored to freaked out

Lying in the infirmary was boring.Aloisyus had left because now that he knew I was okay, he had 'satyr business' to attend to, while Will had ran off with his potential boyfriend, which left me utterly and completely alone in an almost empty room.

I wasn't bored easily, and the first hour I had enough to think about, but by then I was pretty done. I needed a book, or my sketchpad, or my MP3-player, anything.

After three hours, I'd started singing songs into the silence. They probably expected me to sleep, but I felt fine, perfect, actually. They told me to stay in bed, which I did like the good girl I was, but my patience was very much running out.

Then - thank the gods! - Percy came in.

'Hi sis.' He's started calling me his sister already? That was quick.

'I'm BORED. Like, completely bored out of my mind. I've been awake for three hours with absolutely nothing to do!'

Percy pulled up an eyebrow.

'What's keeping you here then? I'd have ran out of patience a long time ago.'

'Doctor's advice.' I rolled my eyes, which I wasn't very good at, so it made Percy laugh at me.

'Shut up,' I told him,' I would really appreciate it if you could get me some stuff. I would understand if you weren't able to get me yellow spray paint and a loaded gun, but just a few things from the cabin? Like, the books you gave me yesterday and my sketchpad plus pencil case? That would really help me.'

'Well, yes, okay, if I can give you a sword lesson tomorrow. You were pretty good, but you need some more practice.' I could see from his smug smile that he was planning on kicking some ass. Mine, probably. Still, I agreed with the deal. I needed something to do right now, or I was going to ignore the fact that I should stay where I was.

'You are my saving grace,' I told Percy as he dumped a pile of books on the table.

This, for some reason, made him crack up. As I looked at him suspiciously, he managed to wheeze,'Inside... Joke...', after which he quickly regained his composure.

'Sorry. You'll probably understand when you read on in the books.' I nodded, and thanked him again.

'Um, I'll go now, Annabeth is waiting for me.' Percy made a vague gesture towards the door.

'Okay, bye then.' As soon as he had left the room, I grabbed my sketchbook. As I thumbed through it, I tried to decide what to draw first. I'd had a lot of weird experiences, so enough inspiration.

My hand lingered on a drawing of my parents, which I'd made last week. When I hesitantly turned the page to a blank one, my finger scraped the edge and I felt a sharp pain. Of course. A paper cut. And a very deep one, for that matter.

But wait.

The liquid dripping from my finger onto the paper wasn't red.

It was golden.

With shaking fingers, I fumbled for a square of ambrosia and bit of a tiny piece. The effect was immediately visible. My skin knitted itself together, sealing the wound completely.

What the heck did this mean? I'd always had red blood, a bit pale, but still, not golden.
I only knew of one thing that fit the description.

Ichor, the blood of the gods.

Thanks a lot, that means so much to me! Because this is my very first story, I'm still a bit insecure about writing. All the positive comments really encourage me, thanks to everyone for that. And it's good to know that my FCE in Cambridge English is paying off;).

I love this story; the plot line is very easy to follow. And ditto to what @Edge of Tartarus said; You have great grammar!
