Inexperienced

After the paper cut incident, I didn't really feel like drawing anymore. It had really freaked me out, and even though I wanted to believe I'd imagined it, my mind told me otherwise.
I'd finished the second book in the series and started in the third one when Aloisyus came back. Immediately I shut my book and glared at him. I was actually pretty pissed off with him because he'd left me alone.
'Where have you been?' I asked him bluntly.
He seemed a bit taken aback, but he retorted quickly, 'Not here.'
What a bright guy. 'Obviously. You just left me with absolutely nothing to do, and then you didn't come back for hours! You're lucky Percy came in and helped me out, otherwise I'd have walked out of here myself!' After my ramble, my anger had subsided. I wasn't really good at being mad, I only got frustrated at worst, and that never lasted long.
'Sorry.' He looked positively guilty. 'It's just that... You've only been here for two days, and I had my duties long before you came here. I know I should have thought of bringing you some stuff.' He nodded towards my sketchbook, though when he really looked at it, his eyes widened. Before I knew it, he'd picked it up.
'What's this?' he asked. At other times, the look on his face would have been amusing.
'Um... Just some golden paint I spilled.' I wanted to figure it out myself before telling anyone.
'You don't have any paint around here, and it's still wet. Besides, it doesn't look like paint.' Apparently he was good at observing. Well then, to hell with secrecy.
'Actually, I cut myself on the paper,' I admitted hesitantly, 'and this was what came out of the wound.'
'You mean... This is blood?' I nodded, looking down at my hands, which were folded onto my lap. I looked up again to see Aloisyus looking at my hands too, thinking hard.
Suddenly he stood up straight.
'We have to tell Chiron,' upon which he practically dragged me out of bed and out of the room. Now I realized that it was one of the rooms in the Big House. Chiron was, as usual, seated on the porch in his wheelchair, reading a book. When we half- stumbled through the door, he looked up.
'What is it?' he asked kindly.
'Look at this, sir,' Aloisyus said, handing him my sketchbook.
'This is ichor,' Chiron stated after examining it carefully. 'Explain, please.'
'Well, um, I kinda cut my finger on the edge of the paper.' I shuffled my feet, unsure of how he would react.
Surprisingly, when he spoke again, no hint of surprise tinged his voice.
'Did you have any ambrosia or nectar before this?' I nodded.
'Might I see your finger, then?'

Oops. 'Well, I used some ambrosia to heal it.' I held out my hand to prove it.
Aloisyus chose that moment to join the conversation again.
'The nectar she drank healed her head wound completely, too. I've never seen anything like it.'
Chiron settled back in his chair and sighed deeply.
'I wanted to wait telling you this, but you leave me no choice. Your mother and I had a talk yesterday, and she told me something. She told me that she was a muse. The infamous tenth muse, who married a mortal but never gave up her immortality.' This I didn't quite understand. Aloisyus was staring at him in incredulity. Guess he did get what was going on.
'Wh-what does that mean?' I was seriously dreading the answer.
