Inexperienced

Emotional rollercoaster

I am a goddess.
I know that it's true, but I can't believe it. Yet. I can tell Aloisyus can, though. He is looking at me like he's never seen me before, but with understanding, like he finally gets everything.
I don't. I still have a shitload of questions. So I start with the simplest one.
'Which muse was she? I mean, what did she represent?' My voice sounded flat. Chiron looked at me with something that could be pity, but I wasn't sure.
'She was the muse of Science.' Okay, that was awesome.
'Why did she leave? Why didn't she give up her immortality? Why did she never tell me? Did she now my father was a god too? Did she ever even love the man I thought to be my father?' The questions came flowing out of me like water, unstoppable. I wanted to continue, but Chiron silenced me.
'Those are questions that I cannot answer, I'm afraid. Only your mother knows the answers to them.' Yes, the look on his face was pity. For sure. And if there was one thing that I hated, it was being pitied.
I didn't want to be here anymore. I stormed down the path, ignoring Chiron and Aloisyus, who were both calling my name.
I didn't know where I was going, but at some point I found myself at the small beach, looking out at the sea. Flinging stones into the water, I felt tears pooling in my eyes.
She lied to me. Well, she hid the truth.
Suddenly I broke down, dropping myself onto the sand and curling into a ball, sobbing into my knees. Three days ago, I was still a normal teenage girl. Now I was a goddess.
And I was being a flimsy about it. Sighing deeply, I wiped my eyes and stood up.
A few minutes later, I caught myself staring at the sea, tears streaming down my face once again, even though I'd told myself not to be such a crybaby.
Unstable I was, indeed.
This went on for a while, and I was in the crying stage when Aloisyus found me. At first he kept his distance, but when I looked up to him, he came over to hug me. While I was sobbing into his shirt, I realized that I'd done the same thing the day before, which made me shut up for good.
I remembered what Percy had done with my clothes, and imagined my tears vaporizing, turning into hydrogen gas. When I felt my eyes dry, I looked up at Aloisyus again, who looked relieved to see that I'd stopped bawling.
'Sorry,' I said, stepping away from him.
'Don't be. I'd bet anyone would freak out if they found out they were a god.' It was very kind of him to try and reassure me. Actually, he'd been kind to me since he saved me from the manticore.
'I want to go to my mother. Tomorrow. And I'd like you to come with me,' I said impulsively.
He looked doubtful. 'I don't think that's such a good idea. You're a goddess, but that doesn't mean that you're not in danger when you go back home. Monsters could attack you, and you have no idea how to defend yourself.'
'That is why I'm asking you to come with me. I'll go anyway, with or without you.'
He raked his hand through his hair. 'You can't leave camp unless you go on a quest.'
'Well, the rules only account for demigods. Technically, I can go wherever I please.' I crossed my arms and looked at him defiantly.
He sighed, defeated. 'Alright. We leave tomorrow afternoon, then. I have some things to round off first.'
My face lit up. I hadn't really expected him to come with me. 'Thank you,' I told him, and he chuckled half-heartedly.
'Who else is gonna save your ass?'

Thanks a lot, that means so much to me! Because this is my very first story, I'm still a bit insecure about writing. All the positive comments really encourage me, thanks to everyone for that. And it's good to know that my FCE in Cambridge English is paying off;).

I love this story; the plot line is very easy to follow. And ditto to what @Edge of Tartarus said; You have great grammar!
