The Life of a Titan

Hyperion Doesn't Do Stealth

About a week after my Mother explained her master plan to me. I have asked my siblings, and the ones most willing to help me were Iapetus, Coeus, Krios, and surisingly Hyperion. I had asked Mother what I should offer those who helped me in this endeavour.

"Why not mastery of the four corners of the world? Although it isn't much, you children are always so anxious to rule something. You will be the one with the most power, and only Hyperion would challenge you for that. He would probably get you all killed. So just exagerate the power of the position a bit. He's stupid enough to believe it," she had said.

I had myself a good chuckle when Mother insulted Hyperion, and used her suggestion. I think Hyperion was the only one who needed incentive. I had such nice elder brothers. Well, as nice as Titans get.

It was the middle of the night. Father was sleeping(which is why the sky turns black at night), and this was the perfect time to proceed with the plan. The only issue was Hyperion. He was brutally bright, considering his powers over the sun.

"Dim your skin, you damned fool!", I snapped as we were approaching Father's chamber. Had Hyperion taken just a couple of steps farther, the blinding light would have woken Father.

"You don't command me. You are the youngest," Hyperion replied with a sneer.

I buried my fist into his face before he could fix his face. Hyperion went flying, and did a corkscrew mid-air. If this had happened during any other situation, I woulld have boomed with laughter. Doing so would have killed us, so I didn't.

A man down before the mission even began. Marvelous. I continued on with the remaining three. The scythe on my back was humming sinisterly. Mother had handed me this the day before.

"The blade was cooled in the Styx. I will easily rend your father's soul. Just, ah, don't touch it yourself. It would be a shame if my treachery failed," Mother had said. I was quite nervous carrying this scythe around. One slip, and something unpleasant could happen.

That slip almost happened when Hyperion tackled me from behind. What a fool...

Notes

Lol bad chapter ending. Am i stretching this Ouranous thing too much?
