The Life of a Titan

Being King Is Rough

We had just killed our Father. And he wouldn't be returning anytime soon. My scythe made sure of that. Considering it was the dead of night, me and my brothers fell to the floor in exhaustion. We soon all fell asleep, except for Hyperion, who was still out like a light. Father's kicks could put a kangaroo to shame.

I woke up quite late, twenty hours after that ordeal according to my time senses. My scythe was still in my iron grip, and I used it to pull myself up. I couldn't let go of it, since my finger joints locked up while I slept. Oh well, I could be dead right now. Stiff joints were nothing compared to the possible consequences. It did make me feel quite old though

It was night again, since I slept for almost a whole day. I walked back to my champers, spent a half hour loosening my grip on the scythe, then promptly fell asleep again. One could never sleep enough. At least, I couldn't.

I woke up in the morning, thankfully. After taking care of my morning routine, I went to the throne room my Mother and Father used to share. I walked into the massive chamber, and noticed something almost instantly. My Father's throne was gone, and Mother's had slightly shifted so it was in the center.

Mother was occupying the single throne, and looked delighted at my presence.

"My son, you and your brothers have done well. Allow me to be the first to congratulate you on be becoming the new King of the Cosmos," she beamed.

I had forgotten that killing Father would give me his position. I was elated, to say the least.

"Now, for your responsibilites as the new king..." my Mother began. The list that followed put quite the damper on my mood. I had to listen to the complaints of my subjects, demand respect and instill fear in the mortals, keep time and thd heavens in check, all while watching out for the threat of revolution. I had to have a wife, a palace, a sacred animal, a name for my scythe, and, according to Mother, children with my wife.

Being king is rough. As you all know, I chose Rhea as my wife, sired the Olympians, and was betrayed by the little bastards and my treacherous sister. Apparently, swallowing our children is unethical, or some shit like that. At least, that why Rhea turned on me. Zeus was just a power-hungry brat.

I was forced into a war with my children, and was doing quite well. Until Poseidon threw Typhon into Tartarus. The most powerful of the Titans force, second to me, gone. And my foolish pride prevented me from joined the battle. I thought it beneath me to fight my own spawn, and left my siblings and their children to deal with it.

The war ended when the Olympians themselves stormed Mount Orthys. Zeus paralyzed me with his Master Bolt. Poseidon and Hades held me down, while the upstart sky god took MY SCYTHE and saw fit to end me with it. Neddless to say, it hurt. A lot. I have no idea how I survived, since I had the ending as my Father. I assume because the scythe was mine.

They scattered my pieces into Tartarus. As for the punishments of the rest of the Titans, well it wasn't pleasant. Atlas was forced to hold the "sky". Little did they know, it was just Father's corpse. After we tossed him into the ocean, and Aphrodite was born, from the sea foam, the pieces were warped back to the heavend. There, they reformed into his body, but Father's soul went elsewhere.

Most of the first generation Titans were tossed into the pit. Prometheus had helped the gods, but was punished after giving fire to the mortals. He was chained to a rock in the middle of the ocean, and vultures were set upon him.

Zeus took advantadge of Leto. She gave birth to the twin archers, then was imprisoned on an island. Zeus was really a paranoid bastard.

The female Titans who didn't participate in the Titanomachy were simply left alone. I don't know what became of them, nor do I care.

Oceanus and Tethys dissapeared so deep into the ocean, Poseidon was unable to find them.

I was thirsting for a chance at revenge, and it came to me. Three thousand years later, in the form of a demigod with daddy issues.

Notes

I gonna do something a bit crazy.
So, this is gonna sorta parrallel the events in Thirteenth Olympian and the sequel to Thirteenth.
Sequel to Thirteenth being the one with the teaser in Betrayed.
