The Thirteenth Olympian (Remake)

Palace-ing

My father finally figured out how I created that mountain. Took long enough. He was rather pleased, though, to find out he had at least some part in it. He left after receiving an Iris message from Triton, something about trouble in Atlantis.
Now that I was alone, I had some time to think. So I had created a mountain. Now what? I wanted it to be the place for my palace, rather than Olympus, but I couldn't build palaces. That's when I realized I was thinking about this all wrong.
I wanted my palace to be ON the mountain, when I could probably easily make it IN the mountain. Speaking of which, I needed to name this thing, as well as convince Hecate to rewrite the mist a little. And by a little, I mean a lot. What would the mortals think if a mountain appeared out of nowhere?
Oh well, that would come later. For now, I had a hefty task on my hands. First things first, hollow out the mountain. I sheered the top off of it for now. Then, I liquidized the unnecessary rock inside. Combining my Earth and Sea powers(which I somehow retained), I pulled the slag out.
I hardened said slag and put it to the side for now. I would need it for the various floors and corridors. The bottom of the hollowed cone was rather large, the perfect size for an "indoor" lake. After removing yet another couple tons of rocks, I summoned crystal clear water from within myself, and poured it into the lake. By now, my body was covered in a thin sheen of sweat. Perhaps this project would take a few days.
I created a little island-esque platform in the middle of the lake, with a large pillar of rock jutting out of it. This pillar, I sculpted into a spiral staircase. The staircase reached the top of the cone, and would be the main way to traverse the interior, besides flashing. Afterwards, I capped off the lake with a roof about forty feet above the water, complete with razor-sharp stalactites. This was mostly for intimidation, just because I could. I poked a couple holes in the second floor, so you could just drop through into the lake.
The second floor would be converted into a training area. However, I didn't currently have access to the equipment to outfit the floor. So it was blank, about twenty feet from floor to ceiling. The third floor was when this thing started looking more palace-y. It was held of the accomodations found within a regular mortal house, but way more extravagant. The bathroom for instance, had a diamond encrusted toilet, and obsidian-tiled floors. Man, Earth powers are awesome.
The living room had a massive 400-inch plasma T.V, a wall that was basically an aquarium, and enough seating for thirty people. Which was extremely excessive, now that I think about it. I would probably never have more than five other people in here at a time. That thought put a serious damper on my spirits. Since I was a god now, I was restrained by the Ancient Laws, meaning I could no longer visit my old demigod friends. And, I never was really on friendly terms with the other gods. The only ones who were nice to me were my dad. Apollo, and Hermes. They treated like a friend, unlike the cordial, violent, or sultry(Aphrodite) approaches some others had.
But I was thinking to much. I decided to go back to the task at hand. I was sweating bullets at this point, so I would probably have to finish this up soon. After creating a majestic dining hall, I topped off the third floor. The third floor was, like the second, twenty feet floor to ceiling. I still had a few hundred feet before I reached the top of the cone, but I had run out of ideas at the moments. My bedroom would be at the very peak, with a glass domed ceiling so I could stargaze. Perhaps the fourth floor could be guest rooms, just for the hell of it. It never hurt to be prepared.
Deciding I was tired enough for the day, I shoved most of the slag back into the mountain, and capped it again. The approximately ten tons of leftover rock I used to create random spires of rock surrounding the mountain. It was kinda cool.

Notes

So, not the best of returns. At least for this story, read the one on Betrayed LOL.
Btw, in case you may have remebered, in an earlier chapter, I said that the "mountain" was originally 300 feet tall. After doing a bit of searching, I realized the average height for a mountain was like 1000+. I r dumbass
I changed the mountain to be 1500 ft tall. So, comment down below on a few things:

  • Name of the Mountain.
  • Ideas for extra floors. I gotta fill in like 10 more or something at least.
  • Which gods should Percy be friends with, and why?
Also, in case you were wondering about the training room equipment. For the sake of not wanting to type too much in there, I made it so things like training equipment have to be made by Hephaestus. Just cuz dont question it.

Bai :D
