Rise of the Hunter
The begining
It all started on the full moon, my mother and I were walking back to our home, we knew the shortcut back well enough it was just a small cut between two apartments nothing we hadn't done before. But this night was different, this was the night that everything changed. While we were going through the ally we saw someone was standing at the other side. We decided to turn around and go the other longer way when we noticed that 2 more people had blocked off the only exit. That was when my mom started to panic, she started reaching into her purse, for what I will never know. That it when one of the thugs pulled out a gun and shot her in the arm. I remember watching in horror as blood sprayed from her wound her eyes wide in pain and terror. I remember shouting and running to my mom.
"What should we do about the little one." one of the thugs asked to the obvious leader.
"Kill him, take him, I don't care but I have dibs on her."
I remember being forced to watch as they did things to her...horrible horrible things that my young mind just completely shut out what was happening.
"Run" whispered my mom, and at that moment I did the thing that I would regret for the rest of my life, I ran.
I ran and ran and I ran, I knew they were after me, I had a head start but they were faster and were slowly gaining on me. I thought I could loose them in the forest, I got at least 20 yards in when they started shooting. I got hit in the arm but I kept running. Eventually I had to stop, I was in the middle of the woods and they were still following me. I laid down underneath a great oak tree. Then they were around me I knew this was were it ended that this was as far as I would go in life. Then out of no where arrows started raining down on them, killing them all. Then a young girl no older than twelve stepped out of the trees.
And she said the words that would alter my future forever "Would you like to join me."
